We had a wonderful time at Mana (stayed from 15 May to 22 May).
we were upgraded to room 401 which is the closest Ocean View Bure to the water and it was more than comfortable for a family of four (two children 4 and 3). The island itself is beautiful, in particular North Beach is a wonderful place for snorkeling (unfortunately South Beach was rather choppy our entire stay).
The resort itself is nice, although it may be a little run down in parts I personally found this added to the appeal as it comes across as a bit rustic, furthermore improvements are underway with a new reception/waiting room being built as well as plans to build a new pool.
Food wise we ate 3 times at the South Beach Restaurant and this was nice, we also had a few meals at Ratu kinis which was also pretty good, while the dinner buffet which we tried once was a bit average. Breakfast was fine with a reasonable amount of variety, while the VoliVoli cafe by the pool made reasonable wraps for a light lunch.
Our kids really enjoyed the kids club and there was a wide variety of activities to keep them occupied, the play ground in itself was really good.
Mana Island is a beautiful place and the staff are great people, yes there are areas that may need a little TLC however it does not take away from the overall appeal of this beautiful place.
