“Truly Relaxing”
Reviewed February 27, 2011

We spent our first nigh at the airport sister hotel Raffles, which was quite comfortable and despite being conveniently located just over the road from the airport, it was unaffected by airport traffic and was surprisingly peaceful. We continued to Lomani the following morning with an arranged transfer from the Raffles hotel to Port Denarau where we purchased our Mololo Cat tickets for our trip across to the island (F$120 return per person). Approx 1 hour later we arrived and were warmly welcomed with shell necklaces. Our island “limo” driver introduced himself and few mins later we arrived at the entrance of Lomani, where we were pleasantly greeted with singing and a freshly opened coconut.

The resort gardens were impeccably maintained and the delights of Lomani were explained to us. The resort includes its activities in its price including 2 daily arranged activities, such as snorkeling at the reef or coconut opening in addition to free use of all resort equipment: kayaking, hobby cat sailing, wind surfing and the use of bicycles. Or alternately you could relax by and cool off in the large fresh water pool. We were shown to our room (Room 2), which was a deluxe suite located within a small block of 8 rooms. It was large, well appointed and on the ground floor with a view of, and access to the beach.

The resort restaurant (Flametree) was rumored to be the best on the island and we ate all of our meals here. A full breakfast was included in the room price (and could be delivered to your room if desired) and there were plenty of options on the lunch and dinner menus. All meals were excellent and reasonably priced, my fav being the seafood chowder (F$11), and coconut lime prawns (F$42). I also took a liking to the local premium lager Vonu (F$9.5 per bottle).

We spent 5 nights at Lomani, but wished it was more. The manager Lusi and her staff are a credit to the resort. If you are looking for a relaxing, beautifully located beach holiday, I highly recommend Lomani as I genuinely believe you would be hard pressed to find somewhere as idyllic, peaceful (Max 36 persons at the resort at any one time), and as well managed as Lomani.

The promise of white sand beaches, coconut palms, tropical sunsets and charming, friendly hosts were a few of the reasons for making Lomani Island Resort our destination when we decided to run away and get married! In every way our dreams were realized and we experienced the wedding and honeymoon that we had both wanted and will cherish. From the moment we contacted the lovely people at Lomani, everything was arranged and each of our wishes accommodated with ease, efficiency and absolutely no fuss. Even the official paperwork relating to marriage was dealt with for us, meaning that all we had to do was get on the plane to Fiji and from there on, relax and enjoy ourselves. Following a loud and friendly Fijian greeting at the resort there was little to do but enjoy the beautiful, quiet surroundings, the attention of our new-found Lomani family, the pleasure of the pool, beach and reef, and the luxurious comfort of our immaculately presented air conditioned accommodation. The restaurant staff excelled with every offering throughout our stay with both quality and generosity, leaving us both with waistlines in need of a little attention! Needless to say, the wedding was a wonderful success, being unique, very emotional and eminently memorable. The photographer, part of the wedding package, captured a remarkable record of the ceremony which will provide us with many special memories in years to come. We are most grateful for the tremendous help and sincere friendship given to us by Lusi and each and every one of her resort staff for making our dream wedding a reality. Already, we are very much looking forward to spending anniversaries to come at Lomani, celebrating our magical time there.

We arrived at Lomani Island resort for our honeymoon and were greeted with singing and smiles even though it was raining heavily due to being cyclone season.
It rained most of our stay at the resort or was overcast but we still
thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were always friendly and
willing to answer any questions or requests. I have multiple food
allergies and they were very accomodating of this and staff remembered
without being reminded at every meal. The food was good and there was enough of a variety so we didn’t get bored. We did venture out to the other resorts on the island but were not tempted. We were lucky to have dinner on the beach one night as the weather was good. There were a few occasions where meals sometimes took a while such as if the dining area was really busy. We found it cheaper to pay as you go rather than go on the $99FJD per person daily meal plan as drinks were not included in the package.

The Beachfront bure was booked at the start of our honeymoon so we stayed in a Hibiscus Suite for 3 nights. We were surprised by how great the accomodation was with a separate lounge area, beach view and an indoor and outdoor shower. We later moved to one of the new beachfront bures which was fantastic with a outside garden in front, beach view, outdoor setting and indoor and outdoor shower. The place was clean and very comfortable. The beach is beautiful and after visiting the other resorts I believe Lomani has the best view. The pool was also always clean and was never too many people.

There are also activities which are run free by the resort such as
snorkelling, bushwalking, fish feeding and dolphin safari. There is
also free use of snorkelling equipment, bikes, kayaks and hobbie cat.
The Kava ceremony and Lovo cooked dinner on Wednesday night was also nice.

If you’re looking for a great holiday getaway where you can relax and
unwind or a romantic getaway/ honeymoon I reccomend Lomani Island
resort. We really enjoyed our honeymoon there and we hope to visit
there again.

BULA! My husband and I took our honeymoon in January to Lomani. We loved every minute of it. It rained quite a bit, but when it is 85 degrees, who can complain? We stayed in a beachfront bure and what a nice place it was. We loved the outdoor shower, the air conditioned bure and the view! We were literally feet from the ocean. The resort itself was so clean and nice. I can't say enough about the wonderful staff. They were so friendly and accommodating. We rode bikes around the island several times and had a great time. There is a little store at the other resort (not the sister one). We went there several times to buy drinks and snacks, a better deal then the resorts. The activities were free and a good variety. This is one place you have to experience. But if you are looking for night life and a busy schedule, this is not the place for you. We relaxed almost every hour of the day. I got a couple of massages and a facial; you can't bet the price and service. If we ever get the chance to visit Fiji again, this is top on our list of places to stay.

My husband and I stayed on Lomani for a couple of nights during Jan 2011. The resort is absolutely amazing! The rooms were clean, so spacious with a beautiful king bed with canopy, living area flowed out to our own private patio and we had a view of the beach! The 'Pure Fiji" complimentary toiletries were so nice too!

The staff were so friendly, and always smiling. The service, food, facilities and atmosphere on the resort was so relaxing, and happy. The pool and beaches were magnificent and we even took a bike ride around the island. The highlights were definitely the sunset dinners on the beach and the massage at the spa! There are always daily specials and we had a Buy 1 Get 1 Free Full Body Swedish Massage!

The best bit about this resort is that its Adults Only! This resort is definitely for people who just want to relax. Withing walking distance there is the sister resort Plantation Island for families, where you can do the more loud and thrilling water activities.

Definitely worth every dollar! My husband and I would definitely be going back on our next trip!

Stayed for 3 nights at Lomani in January but wish it was longer.
I went with a girl from work, so we were more interested in relaxing in a hammock whilst drinking out of a coconut, eating good food and snorkeling rather than romantic dinners and Lomani definately delivered!!

Service: The staff were wonderful, friendly and very helpful with no request too difficult. When we were leaving the staff sang us a song and I admit, I felt a little emotional and I think its because there are only a small no of people staying at the resort and the staff make you feel like your part of Lomani.

Food: Everything I had was wonderful and I have no complaints whatsoever. I think that looking out at such a wonderful view made me enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner even more. There are around 8 tables down by the water where you eat and watch the sun go down. We were joined by a dinner guest, a little ginger cat who we nicknamed Gordon.

Accommodation: Stayed in deluxe room, airconditioned (very important) beautiful furnishing and a stunning view. Room was cleaned superbly every day and at night the beds were turned down and a chocolate left for us. Lots of lovely personal touches make all the difference.

There are 2 complimentary activites every day, we went snorkeling and had an abolute ball. Snockelled over a boat wreak which was quite a strange experience. Made it back to the resort just in time for lunch - what more could you want?

Would I stay there again? - Most definatley!!!

Though the flight was long once we arrived it was more than worth it. We (my husband, daughter & myself) were lucky enough to stay at Lomani for 12 nights and it was absolutely wonderful. We weren't there for the nightlife (and there isn't much if you are), but the snorkelling and other activities made the time fly by way too fast. The staff met us with a welcome song and went out of their way to accommodate us in any way they could. Peceli (the activities director) is fantastic. He took us somewhere different every day to snorkel and each time I thought it couldn't be beaten until he took us out again the next day and it would get even better. He showed us how to open coconuts, took us to Shell Village, did the bicycle & bush walk tours and the list goes on. The kitchen & wait staff put up with our "quirky" food orders requesting smaller portions and substitutions at every meal without a grumble and the food was great! Our room was always neat and clean when we came back to it and at night our beds were turned down with chocolates on the pillows. Noah, the "Lomani limo" driver, was always willing to take us whereever we wanted to go and even waited to take us back if we were only going to be a short time. The staff again sang to us as we left and really made us feel like we would be missed. If you are looking for the real Fiji this is not it, this is a place to be pampered, relax and just unwind, and for that it cannot be beat. Thanks again "Lomani" for a terrific vacation!!!
