Wasnt that great...went after peak season, but still packed. Beaches, good. We had a beachfront family bure and pretty much every thing that could break did, including the window louvres, drawers, fridge and toilet. This resort is VERY tired. F&B was very average. Meal plan really restricted you. Wouldn't recommend.

The activites were very average; marine activities were a shambles, and the less said about the kids club the better. We spoke to many guests who had come from other resorts, including Castaway, Outrigger and ShangriLa and they all very shocked at how down market the place was. It was full of very budget concious Kiwis (who the hell brings an esky /icebox into a restaurant on holidays for crying out loud!?!)

The staff ranged from fantastic, to disinterested. The kids had a great time, but mind you they had just as good a time at the Raffles Gateway swimming pool on the way over and back! It was pretty much a production line, budget resort which desperately needs a few million pumped into it. Next time, probably spend the extra and go to Castaway, or try twice the holiday at half the price in Bali..

It's one of best beaches in Fiji. Beautiful reefs. Friendly staff. The resort mostly catered for families.
The beach is awesome, clear waters, perfect sand, nice sunset...but bored during the night. There is no internet/tv/computers... only thing to do is to drink.

Positive:
Nice beaches
awesome snorkling
clear waters
free kayak/wind surf/reef snorkeling/sailing
submarine boat
para-gliding boat
island hopping
Scuba
dolphins safari

Negative:
Food is average
Coffee/latte is terrible
Accommadation is average
No computer/internet/tv

Oz. July 2006
My Husband & I stayed at Plantation Is. for 7 nights. Our room in the new area was very nice with aircon and 2 ceiling fans, enclosed porch with chairs and lounge and a patio area with seating. Next to mini golf course, tennis court and pool. Only downside was there are 3 rooms per block with thin walls and we could hear the honeymooners next door! Food good, lots of it, except for BBQ, cold, dried up meat. Only alcohol available outside of restaurants is at the shop near the boat shed, selling cruisers, UDLS and beer. No spirits or wine. The Trader at Musket Cove (10 mins walk) is like a general store, resonable prices. (No alcohol) Fresh bread, rolls, buns available every day. Beware that some breads go mouldy very quickly as no preservatives in it. Shop near Anando's restaurant had the best fruit. Plenty of food available to have breakfast and lunch in our room. Remember your plastic plates, cutlery etc. Free activities were disappointing as they were booked out days in advance. No snorkeling, need to go on a trip for that. The tide is out 200 - 300 metres by early afternoon. There are plenty of places to go for walks, along the beaches and the views are great up in the hills. Lovely sunsets. You can walk to the oher island at low tide where the village is. The weather was great , warm and overcast most days with a breeze which was refreshing. There are very few flies and biting isects. Remember your sunscreen, it's double the price in Fjij. Beach towels available. The staff were very friendly always have a smile on their faces. Some people complain that the service is slow, it's Fiji time, we're there to chill out, there's no hurry. The activities for the kids kept them happy, the pool and mini golf was always busy. Overall a good place to visit and relax. No office or house work, now that's a bonus!
