My husband and I stayed at FF for 4 nights before heading over to Plantation. We were picked up in a long boat from the Malolo Cat after dark and once beached, I was offed to be carried ashore.
At one stage we were the only people staying there which was lovely. There was no possible way we could fault any of the staff, they were all just gorgeous, especially Abbo with his beautiful smile, Salatay with her magical hands, kind nature and wonderful tales, cheeky Mali, Rajaeli, the new manager and Anaseca who makes great margaritas.
We hadn't bought meal tickets as we wanted the option to eat wherever but once there realised there was nowhere else. There were no options as to what you wanted to eat and the evening meals were enormous and really not that palatable, but then we found the same thing at Plantation, so...
Lunches were also huge but quite nice. Breakfasts consisted of bacon and pancakes (huge pile of!) or eggs and toast, not both on offer at the same time however and bacon never came with the eggs but we found this kind of cute. I'm sure however, if we had asked to have both, they would have accommodated us as nothing was too much bother for them.
We stayed in a 1 room bure which was very basic but clean and comfortable and the outside shower was lovely. We were somewhat surprised there was no bar fridge but they were happy to provide ice and ice bucket. The pool & deck area is nice with a great outlook and the beach although small and sans silken white sand, was lovely, the water was as warm as a bath and was teeming with fish.
We had a great kava night with the boys and got to enjoy their wonderful singing.
The day we left Salatay made us gorgeous leis from the fauna and 6 of the staff walked us to the long boat and sung us a farewell which was very touching.
It certainly wouldn't be for everyone but it was an experience we will never regret having had.
Vinaka FF and sega na lega.
