Leleuvia is a wonderful place to enjoy a relaxing authentic stay. We thought the food was terrific though of course our favourite was the more traditional Fijian dishes and the weekly Saturday lovo with live music (and fresh fish caught right out of the ocean moments before cooking began). Try to participate in making the lovo dinner a few hours earlier with the boys if you can- it's good fun. Beaches are lovely and snorkelling is excellent. Staff are wonderful and the utmost professionals. I did not find the bures to be basic at all- thought they were beautiful and waking up to the sunrise each morning was divine. Our only issue was our daughter was sick during most of our stay which made everything a bit hard for us especially re cold showers and set meal times but otherwise can't imagine a more ideal spot. Found all the other guests to be very cool as well - mostly locals weekending from Suva as well as super cool tourists who made the trek. Would have loved to have travelled to Moturiki and levuka on of the day trips on offer (as many of the staff are from there) but we couldn't bring ourselves to leave the island! Also must say all the equipment was too notch- hammocks looked brand new and lounge chairs were all very clean and comfy. Water equipment. Dining area. Boat. For the more affordable price (compared to other resorts or hotels) I wouldn't have expected it to be as nice as it was, but everything exceeded our expectations. Thanks again to everyone there and we would recommend this place in a heartbeat!

Simply stunning small desert island. Breathtakingly beautiful. If you are looking to get away from everything and escape the modern world you could do a lot worse than coming here. What you won't find is immaculately perfect rooms with aircon and TVs. What you will find is basic but good accomodation and an island playground. The place is so laid back it's almost horizontal. Within reason you can do just about anything you want. The staff are just brilliant. The food is pretty good considering the remoteness of the location. If you catch a fish on a fishing trip they'll cook it up for you too. Snorkelling and kayaking are also available and the reef is lovely. I'd say the snorkelling was actually better than on the Great Barrier Reef. And it's relatively cheap too. All activities and 3 meals a day are included in the price if you go all in which is really the only sensible thing to do as you are not going to be able to pop out for a bite to eat anywhere else. Drinks etc outside that deal will cost you more. Word of advice on that one; stop after the 6th Bully Hayes Hard Cola.
In summary put it like this - I was going to stay half the time I ended up actually staying and I could happily have stayed there another week. The biggest issues the place has are the lack of water in the showers and that water not being remotely warm most of the time. A problem if you've spent 3 hours in the sea and are caked in salt. Also sometimes the generator would be turned off. It's not a massive issue at all but I'd love to see them put up a couple of smallish wind turbines to generate electricity if possible. There is a constant breeze across the island all in one direction most of the time so it'd probably work quite well and allow some water heating at times.

Stayed here for 6 nights in April for a yoga and paddling retreat being hosted by my partner Gena from Ohana Yoga. Leleuvia turned out to be an excellent venue for this retreat with the eco style set up and incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Highlights including doing yoga in the large newly completed open-air bure, paddling (outrigger, SUP and kayaks) and swimming in the pristine waters around the island. Relaxing and getting know some of the great staff including an extended kava ceremony and music session! Special thanks to Joe, Una, Eli, Seru and all the staff who really went out of their way to ensure we had a fantastic experience! Looking forward to our next retreat here. Bula! Kent ;-)

I spent a lovely week at Leleuvia on a yoga retreat recently and it has definitely become one of my favourite places in Fiji!! The setting, as everyone else has described, is straight from a postcard - pure heaven on earth!! All of the water activities being included in the accommodation price is a HUGE bonus and the wonderful staff at the dive shop were always ready to lend a helping hand or give advice about the best places to paddle/snorkel. The bar and restaurant staff were also lovely and always accommodated our requests as best they could. Joe, Seru, Una, Simi, Ilaisa and Leli made us feel a part of the Leleuvia family from start to finish and were truly genuine and wonderful to be around. There is something oh so special about Leleuvia and I just can't wait to get back there. Vinaka!!

If you are looking for 5 star luxury- then this is not the place!! But if you are looking for a family friendly, weekend get away, then Leleuvia is perfect!
The scenery and location are stunning, the snorkeling great, the activities available are lots of fun- and the guys at the dive shop were super friendly and a delight to spend time with.
If you don't like cold showers or sharing bathroom facilities, this place could be a bit of a struggle, however.
For us, the showers were fine, and the bures comfortable. What really let us down was the quality of vegetarian food. :( Taking away the meat and just serving a plate of vegetables was not a satisfying or tasty meal. Most of us were constantly hungry and found that the food lacked taste, was heavy laden on carbs and drenched in oil. More healthy and lightweight options would be good. Vegetarian meals need to include protein (eg. tofu, lentils, chickpeas) in order to be satisfying. Amongst our group (15 travelers) food was the biggest complaint. Options that were tasty were the vegetarian pasta, the vegetarian quiche, the dahl soup (a curry with chickpeas would have been good) and even a veggie burger or vegetarian pizza would have been nice.
Also, cleanliness was a bit hit and miss- the bathrooms often were uncleaned- particularly when there were less guests around- which suggested that the staff had slacked off a bit. The fewer guest, the less the quality of cleanliness. And we had to wait four days for our room and sheets to be re-made. The laundry area is also very unsightly for guests. Perhaps a curtain or relocating to another area would make the space look cleaner and move inviting.
Kitchen staff also seemed grumpy and like it was a hassle to have to serve us- they seemed to prefer to be texting on their phones or talking to one another.

Despite the many areas for improvement, I think that they are easy enough to address and if so, Leleuvia could quite possibly become the best short-stay destination on the Eastern half of Viti-Levu.

Location Location Location.

Well done to Una, Elisa, Seru, Simi and Jo for their warmth and friendliness and making us not mind so much about the things that need to be improved.

Room Tip: If you need to get up several times during the night for the loo- ask for a Bure closer to the bathrooms! If you plan to catch the afternoon ferry to return back to Suva- be warned that you will be stung with an extra $30 fee!
