This was my first experience with The Grand and I found it to exceed all expectations. I met Meg Caldwell at a Plan Your Meetings event and she proved to be a professional sales rep to work with to meet our requests and gain our contract. I have planned many meetings and the staff at the resort work closely with me to insure success for everyone in attendance. We only had a few minor issues but these were resolved quickly and efficiently. The billing process went so smoothly that I have been able to reconcile my budget to the final invoice very quickly. Eryn Lynchford was the most efficient event manager I have had the experience of working with. She went above and beyond, working extra time to assure our event was an excellent experience! I will request her for future events.

The staff went out of their way to deal with a accident involving my mother on my father's 83rd birthday. They were spectacular in their response to the accident as was the couple who owned a home nearby and called the ambulance and the runner who originally got the message to the security personnel. You will be in good hands here and the scenery is spectacular which is why the locals come to have meals here. Five stars plus! Thank you so much for your help.

Vickie, Alison and Blake... When you stay there, find these kind and caring workers who will go out of their way to ensure that your stay is memorable. Blake is a great server who gives great recommendations and takes pride in what he does as well as being genuine and doing it with a smile. Vickie works at the front desk and is one of the BEST! High marks, A+++, superstar. She made me feel welcome and was kind and genuine during my check in process. Alison is also at the front desk and get high remarks for being considerate and available. I look forward to my next trip very soon.

Room Tip: A room with a view of the bay is the best... nothing like it during sunset or sunrise

I have stayed at the Grand Hotel Marriott Resort a couple of times, and I have really enjoyed it. As previous reviewers have said, there is a lot to do. The rooms are nice, and I really like the large pool area and spa. The lobby area is beautiful as is their dining room. I did not get to eat the breakfast while there, but I heard it is very good. I did have dinner in the main dining area, and the food was well prepared. This resort has activities for all age groups, and you never have to leave the premises to enjoy yourself. That said its proximity to Fairhope is also a plus since Fairhope is a great little town to explore. I hope to plan another visit to this property again very soon.

This is our second Christmas at the Grand Hotel. We were here last year (2012) and had such a great time my friend and I just had to come back!!! This hotel is really like stepping back in time. It's truly when people were nice and welcoming to everyone!! The decorations are beautiful and everywhere you go it's just a different world!!! Well let me start by saying we had requested the same room we had last year and I understand they can't guarantee this! I had contacted Marlene Sherrin and she is just wonderful! Marlene had said she would do what she could and I also asked her to make Christmas Day Brunch reservations. Flying in Dec 22 was a nightmare and we didn't get in until about 9:00! When we arrived they had the room we wanted which was wonderful seeing we were that late, THANKS MARLENE! After checking in and getting into our room we were exhausted so it was room service!! We both just wanted a little something so it was grilled cheese sandwichs and ice tea. Room service was extra quick and what we had was just perfect after a LONG flying day!! At the Grand Hotel they're always so many activities during the Christmas Holiday!! One favorite is the HOLIDAY WELCOME RECEPTION, lots do hors d'oeuvres and drinks! The Christmas Buffet was the best, Marlene made a special reservation we had a nice window view, close to the buffet and by the piano. We both had way too much food and champagne, it was GREAT. Our 5 day stay unfortunately had to come to a end. Flew back to Wisconsin and Illinois were we had -40 below weather!!! We're already thinking about come back CHRISTMAS 2014!!! If you need to get away this place is for YOU!! One you go you'll want to one back again and again. Anything you need Marlene sherrin is more than happy to try and make it happen. You can tell she really likes what she does, it's more than just work!! There's not many people like her today.

First first time visiting this hotel. Fantastic.

We did upgrade our room to the Spa Building (see room pic) and it was perfect. very large with nice mini fridge, large bathroom with seperate shower & nice tub. had a balcony with rocking chairs.

this is also the building with the indoor pool....which they told me they keep at 80 degrees so it's not heated at all. the water was so cold that even the kids wouldn't swim in it. (it's next to the healthclub, so their excuse was that the indoor pool is a lap pool made for cooling off after you work out - which makes perfect sense right.....work up a sweat, change OUT of your workout clothes, into a swimsuit & dive in to cool off from your exercise = i was very disappointed in this reason....it just doesn't make sense....at least not in winter when it's the only option for swimming).

we did not pay for the view....but were perfectly happy with our view of the grounds and the outdoor pool. the other views in the Spa building is the harbor view w/ boats. the Spa building is the furthest away from the mail building & pool. was fine for us, for elderly you might want to remain in the main building. they do have golf carts to shuttle you around.

the grounds were beautiful & worth walking around. lots of hammocks, & sitting swings to relax & view the bay (btw, the bay is NOT pretty in winter - very dark brown water)

the hot tubs were nice. 2 of them. although one was so brightly lit up you really needed sun glasses at night it was s bright. the other was perfect. cozy, romantic. lot's a big beach towels too

we stayed 2 nights & never dined on property except for room service for dessert one night. had the angel food cake - which was not good - the cake was flat & hard and the berry compote was obviously frozen. the hotel home made candy bar was excellant!

This was out first visit to The Grand and we loved it. From the moment we drove on the property till check out, the service was impeccable. We dined at the Salt Water Grill and very much enjoyed it. We also had the breakfast buffet one morning. It was so relaxing to sit and view the bay as we ate. We stayed in the Spa Building and the room was spacious and well appointed. Our only negative was that the walls are a little "thin". We heard conversations from the hallway and the kids next door to us. (We have small kids so we do understand) but we were there for a getaway to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We simply used a sound machine app to drown out the noise. Overall we loved it and plan to return!
