“Gorgeous scenery”
Reviewed June 3, 2012

Great rails to trails bike path. The section between Piedmont, AL and the Georgia State line is definitely the prettiest stretch of road. Lots of bridges crossing the scenic Terrapin Creek with mountains and valleys for backdrops. If you like to camp, the new Chief Ladiga Campground is the perfect spot. Ride out of the campground right onto the trail. Also, the Pinhoti hiking trail runs right by the campground as well, so you can take a day to bike and another to hike. At the visitors center in Piedmont, you can arrange for various shuttles at decent prices if you are interested in a one-way trip.

“Ladiga fun”
Reviewed April 28, 2012

We went from Piedmont to Anniston one day (38 miles round trip) then piedmont to State line the next day (28 miles round trip). We have hybrid bikes, so not as fast as other bikes. 3 hours 10 min
first day, second day, 2hours 25 min. Beautiful rides. Our favorite was the second day.

“Converted rail tracks into a bicycle heaven”
Reviewed April 24, 2012

Great place to cycle in northeast Alabama. I haven't gotten the nerve to ride the whole length, but with the right group, it would be fun.
