Sushi was good. We were seated right away and first round of sushi came quickly. We decided to have one more roll and it took awhile. The place filled up and the one sushi chef couldn’t keep up. Would have been 4-stars if service was better. Server was a little disengaged.

We went to Fugi to celebrate my son's 15th Birthday. We informed the waitress that it was his birthday when we were seated. There was 4 in my party and we were seated on the chef side with 2 other couples. While we were waiting on our drinks the table behind us had someone else (adult) celebrating a birthday and the staff went to the table and sang (you will understand this further into the review) We ordered our drinks and appetizers and the waitress must have been new because it took. forever to get our drinks and then had to be reminded about the appetizers. I had ordered filet (medium) and scallops and when the chef started cooking he reiterated my order. He was also cooking shrimp and a few t-bone steaks and all his attention was on the t-bone. I asked him to please check my filet since I ordered it medium and it had been cooking for a LONG time. He looked offended that I said something but the filet was so thin I knew it would cook quickly. He took the spatula and pushed my filet over but did not flip or check it and went back to finishing up the t-bones. He then started on scallops before giving attention to my filet. When it finally hit my plate it was WELL done and crispy. I was fuming based on the fact that I am paying almost $28 for my meal alone and had said something to him and he acted as if I was stupid. The portions given were way less than normal. Keep in mind I have visited this location numerous times. My son got an adult meal but his portions were the same as my daughter who got a child's meal. It took forever to get a refill on soda and if you had alcohol you would choke before you got your drink. When you sit on the chef side you are paying extra for the entertainment of them cooking in front of you and putting on a show. This chef ran thru cooking and provided NO entertainment, no joking no laughs. It was miserable and we were there for my son's birthday. After we were finished eating I was waiting on the staff to come and sing to my son and that didn't happen. The waitress brought out a dessert and placed it where my son was sitting because he had gone to the restroom. I made mention to the manager about the service and my steak and she had them cook another one in the back but I received no compensation on my bill. My husband (who is a generous tipper) gave the waitress a $43 tip even though service was terrible and the waitress didn't even say thank you after receiving it. Needless to say this was the worst experience ever and the service was terrible and the food was worse. My son was disappointed to say the least

We tried this restaurant and it turned out pretty good after we switched to the Hibachi side of the place. I guess the Japanese side would have been ok, but our waitress was nice, but really struggling with the language. Since wwe are not experts in Japanese food, we asked to be moved to the other side. The Hibachi was a little above average. Price was reasonable.
