not only one of the best places to eat in the Anniston area, but one of the best in the state
Quality food and service, owner is very friendly and watches over the open air kitchen to make sure everything is perfect. I only get to eat here about once very 6 - 8 weeks when traveling in this area but I alway look forward to eating dinner here.
Had the blacken red fish tonight and thought I was in New Orleans, it was great over grits and a nice sauce on the side. Cooked prefect.
Their fresh baked bread is very good and a good wine list.

The dinner menu at Grafrerick's Cafe has so many choices with so much variety. The Cafe specializes in serving the freshest local ingredients ( many from Dave Garfrerick's own organic farm) using upscale preparations comparable to the fine dining restaurants in Birmingham, Atlanta, and New Orleans. When we visited recently, we enjoyed the Tomato Salad which is a stack of beautiful heirloom tomatoes, layered with fresh corn, pink-eyed peas, mild goat cheese, balsamic vinegarette, and an aioli dressing. This appetizer is almost a meal in itself! My husband enjoyed the Baked Oysters with Parmesean, served with a spicy warm Louisiana dipping sauce. The oysters were large, succulent, and perfectly prepared. Our entrees were Diver Scallops served over carrot purée and sweet corn purée and the Grilled Tilefish which was served over a vegetable medley of roasted fingerling potatoes, heirloom tomato, carrots, and a very delicate, flavorful broth. We shared a scrumptious Chilton County Peach and White Chocolate Bread Pudding for dessert. Every dish was perfectly prepared and delicious.

The menu lists several other tempting choices including very tender and flavorful grass-fed steaks, chicken, pork, and several seafood choices. The vegetable plate also looked very delicious.

There is a very good wine list and numerous beer selections, including some local and regional craft beers.

The menu changes often, depending upon the availability of the freshest, seasonal ingredients.

The service was friendly, welcoming, and well-timed.

We found this place because its "Pecan Encrusted Grouper" was on Alabama's 100 Dishes to eat before you die. It was well worth the drive. The food is definately upscale, but the atmosphere is casual and relaxed. I had the Seared Scallops while Minerva had the grouper. Both were outstanding. The portions were good and the service was excellent. We are looking forward to going back soon!

Garfrerics is awesome. They use fresh farm grown food (the owner is a farmer) cooked to perfection in an American Fusion menu. Everything is delicious. And they can cater to Gluten Free / Celiac needs!
