The room was good the people were nice. Went down to get into pool and hot tub around 10 and had trash(liquor bottles, cigerette butts, cups) in both. Complained but it was another hour before it was just removed not even cleaned at all just removed. I will not stay there again or recommend to a family type vacation.

The ocean front room and balcony were wonderful . Free breakfast was overflowing with bagels, muffins, toast, cereal, juice and hot breakfast choices. Tea and coffee are served all day. The balcony seats two and has a panoramic view of the beach, 2 pools and hot tub. Free beach chairs and towels are ample around the pool area. The hard working staff at check in/out handled our reservations with ease. The free business computer and printer were in good working order. The outlet mall at Foley, Al is a short drive away...just visit their site before the trip to get sale specials and coupons. Bruno's Supermarket is just down the block. The fridge and microvave in the room were perfect for snacks. Highly recommend this low profile property for picture perfect sunsets you will never forget.

My family and I stayed here one night on Priority Club points. The only down side to this....only one night. This was a great hotel. I've stayed at a couple H.I. Express hotels that were better, but this one is at the beach. Some negatives will be involved due to the amount of vacation traffic....but still a very nice beach hotel.

The check-in (and check-out) was easy and quick. All the staff we came in contact with were friendly. The room was clean, and roomy. The bathroom was clean, but it could have used a little more light for the shower.

The jewel of this hotel is the pool area! They have an awesome pool and jacuzzi. The pool is huge and split in the middle by a wall...one half heated, the other half nice and cool. Easy access to the (non-crowded) beach is also nice.

The breakfast was slightly under the usual H.I. Express ones I've had...but once again, nice for a free breakfast at a beach hotel. The little breakfast area was PACKED that morning too!

They say location is everything and I think this hotel should be thankful for that. But, location was not enough for me. Personally I like a good night's sleep and their bed did not provide that for me. It had no support which caused back pain for me and I don't have back problems. The staff was very nice and helped picked out restaurants and things to do. The free breakfast had one thing going for it - it was free. I like to eat a bit heathier than what was provided. The elevators are very slow, but this is only a 6 floor hotel, so stairs are an option. Housekeeping missed servicing our room one day, but promptly brought up towels when I called and asked for them. Overall the hotel was clean enough but could use some updating. However, it was on the beach and that part was convenient. We had a good time and highly recommend taking a dolphin tour while you are there and the best restaurant we went to was Calypso Joe's.

Had top floor oceanfront room which was very clean. Room was decent size and had nice view of pool and beach. Pool looked nice but we were unable to swim in it. Although hotel advertises heated pool, it was freezing cold and we could not tolerate it even in the warm October weather. Also, elevators were extremely slow and very shaky and creaky. Overall, room was ok but next time we will try to find hotel with indoor or actually heated pool. We paid off season rates (139-159 per night) so room was reasonably priced for this area, but I WOULD NOT stay here and pay peak season rates. This room was clean, but was just like every other Holiday Inn Express room we've stayed in and there was nothing extra special about it.

We happily spent 4 nights at Holiday Inn Express Orange Beach in May 2008. The room was clean and neat with a refridgerator and microwave which was very handy. Our king room had a sofa. The senior discount does not apply to an ocean-front room. We decided that we'd rather spend the time on the beach than on a balcony, so we didn't spend the extra dollars for an ocean-front room.

The lobby and free breakfast area were both neat, clean, and attractive. The breakfast each morning was wonderful! Different hot items were available each day, and of course, the "homemade" sweet rolls were available every day. We were extremely pleased with breakfast. Yes, the area could get crowded, but that's testament to how good it was. The staff who provided the breakfast were friendly, efficient, and neat.

The hotel is well-maintained. We saw maintenance staff every day. No loitering for them -- they were always on the go taking care of any problem reported.

The pool was beautiful, clean, and clear. We enjoyed watching the children play there, and we had friendly conversations with other seniors staying there. When the area was quiet, I enjoyed reading by the pool and listening to the lovely sound of falling water.

The beach location is great. If you can "shop" for a non-peak time to visit, the rates are reasonable. We will return.

From the hotel reservation site to check-in it was sooo easy. Hyamie (sp?) greeted us at the front desk and had everything ready that we had requested. The room was very spacious, 2 queen beds, and right on the pool level facing the Gulf. The beds were comfortable, not so much the pillows, but there were four to each bed. There were plenty of towels and toliet articles in the bath and a great hairdryer. The arrangement of the room was easy to get around in without feeling crowded. I wish there had been additional drawer space, there were only three drawers, because I like to unpack upon arrival. There were pool towels available which was a plus. The pool was another thing we enjoyed. It had a "0" entry, swim up seating, a great hot tub and and a pool bar that fixed muchies as well as tropical drinks and beer. Great not to have to change and go get something for lunch. The breakfast was delicious each morning. Everything was hot and the coffee was abundant. Nadine, the breakfast hostess, was always very helpful and cheerful. We have stayed in another hotel at Orange Beach and will NEVER go back there, but we will absolutely go back to the Holiday in Express.
