“Good value for larger group”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2013

Our challenge was finding a charter that would accommodate a party of 8 that wasn't a HUGE party boat charter with 50 people. We found this charter and I called and spoke with Chris about what we were looking for and he explained that his boat will hold 40 something people but he will not book more than 20...and at $120 per person plus tip (includes everything, including fish cleaning, except for our snacks) we were happy.

Drove to Orange Beach and were happy to see a very clean boat ready and waiting at 6am. After a few minutes explaining how things would operate we were off, trolling lines in tow. The kids got to reel in a few mackerel that were caught on the lines they ran behind the boat as we went out into the gulf.

Once we were where the Capt wanted us to be the two helpers already had us setup and ready to go with poles and bait. We had a good understanding of how to use the equipment we were working with and when Capt said to drop...we were ready to drop.

I will say, we did not catch a lot of fish, but we still had a fun day. There was a storm just a few miles south of us, and because of that it was pretty rough out there. We kept drifting from the spots, so we would have to pull up our lines so he could move back over the reef, but be still really enjoyed the day. The crew were very helpful with getting lines untangled and fish off the lines.

When we returned to the marina they quickly (very quickly!) cleaned the fish and everything was divided up between everyone on the boat. Very clean boat with bathrooms on board, but no running water in the sink so you will definitely want to bring handy wipes/hand sanitizer after you've been digging around in a bait bucket all morning!

We were back between 12:30 - 1...I think he kept us out a little longer than normal because we hadn't caught as many fish as they had hoped, so he wanted to try a little longer...plus it wasn't going to take as much time to clean the fish when we got back. We traveled out for about an hour, maybe an hour 15 minutes before we dropped our lines.

“Fish on!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2013

What a great experience! We had a group of 11, and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcomed. Capt. Chris and his deckhands, Mike and Will, we're professional, fun and experienced fishermen. We caught huge red snapper within minutes of dropping our lines! Great tips on every aspect of the experience, from use of sunscreen to preparing your catch for dinner. Thank you for a great day, we can't wait to come back

“Great day of fishing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2013 via mobile

Captain Chris and crew Will and Mike did a great job running the boat, putting us on fish and providing excellent service to everyone onboard. They purposely limit the number of people that go out on each trip so the crew can serve the 20 or so people and do a good job. As few as 3 days ago, I was on a different boat, and I wish I had gone out with this crew instead on both days.
We caught a lot of red snapper, two king mackerels, a few trigger fish, two ramoras, and we saw a tiger shark that was 7-8 feet long just a few feet from the boat. Lots of pole-bending action!
The next time I come to this area, I plan to fish with them again.
