I had lunch here recently and the selection, price and food were really very good for such a touristy location. Recommend

Went on weekday afternoon after Labor Day so no waiting. The server was excellent, decor and atmosphere was excellent and lunch specials were reasonable. Appetizers: Conch fritters were okay. Sweet potato fries okay. Not much for the price. The entrees were excellent. The tritail fish in Stevie Nicks sauce is not to be missed. Fried oysters and shrimp were good. Hamburger for our non seafood lover was excellent. Total bill with 2 appetizers, 6 entrees and tip were just over $100. We were not disappointed and certainly will return when in area.

We dined here Labor Day weekend. We arrived at 6:30. Was told we'd have a 45 min wait. The band was playing so we thought sure; why not. An hour went by. Kids getting antsy. Went to use the restroom; half the restaurant was empty!! I asked the hostess what the deal was?? We should have been seated over an hour ago. She apologized and we were seated. Very fresh seafood. We LOVED the black bean side dish; the best we'd ever had. Fish was good and fresh. The meal made up for the long wait. Was worth it and would go again.

This was our first time to Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area in 20 years. The Compleat Angler was recommended to us by the person who owns the condo we rented. It was the best Grilled Shrimp we have ever had anywhere. We went there on Friday night and it was so good we went back on Sunday night. The Seafood Gumbo was some of the best also. Everything we had was cooked to perfection. The service by Jason, our waiter, was excellant on both nights. We will definitely be back.

We ate Sunday night before Labor Day, after the fireworks show. We were able to sit outside on ghe dock and view the yachts in the marina. I had the crab cakes which our server highly suggested. Crab cakes are one of my favs, but these were over seasoned atop an overcooked fried green tomato. I wouldn't order again. Nice casual location, large bar, lots of TVs for watching sports, several video games and 2 pool tables. Friendly staff. Some customers played bean bag toss (8 sites) on the boardwalk by the marina. Family friendly location. Food was ok, but we're from New Orleans, so other locations are rarely as satisfying.
