We've been going to Doc's for many years and have always enjoyed the food and the staff has always been great until our last visit. Two of our sons and their family and we went to Doc's for dinner and we were unfortunate enough to get a long hair blond fellow who obviously could not care less about the quality of his service. Started out by asking for some extra horseradish for the cocktail sauce. The containers are kept in small pails at the table. There were a couple left so the "waiter" dumped what was left in front of me along with the water. It went from there to a bad attitude, poor service including walking by and asking how the food was and forgetting to wait around for a response. For the most part I always tip 20% but not today. This is the only
time we have ever had bad service at Doc's. In the past it has always been great.
That being the food was great. The boys and I shared Ap Alachicola oysters which were great. BTY, always ask where the oysters are from. If they are from Louisiana, don't order. While we were there we had them from both places and there is a world of difference.
The table had soft shelled crab, fried chicken, fried shrimp, and fried fish. All were excellent.
We always like to note if locals eat where we are. It is almost always a good sign. Doc's gets a lot of local patronage and has specials that obviously are aimed at the locals.
We will go back but if we get the long haird blonde "waiter" we will request a replacement.
