“a nice stay”
Reviewed October 24, 2011

we booked this hotel on bookit. We were not sure what to expect as we have never stayed in a Fairfield inn before on our travels. We had a lovely room on the 5th floor and we could see the sea.
All the staff were were welcoming, pleasant and very helpful. The breakfast was lovely .
We had a lovely stay and plan to revisit next year.
The beach is less than a 10 minute walk from the hotel across the main road a bown a purpose built beach accress which is great,

Room Tip: A front facing room on the 5th floor gives you a peak at sea.

Stayed one evening while traveling along the Gulf Coast. Reasonable room rates, very clean and close to the beach. What more could you ask? Oh yeh, a nice little hot breakfast too!

This hotel is located on the bay side of the highway and overlooks an inland body of water. It was extremely clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. It has a complimentary golf cart shuttle that will drive you to the main drag where you can then walk right across the highway and access the beach from a private entrance. While it is not really close enough to walk to and from the beach easily, it isn't so far that you couldn't walk it at all if you wanted to. Instead of waiting for the golf shuttle to pick us up, we found it easier to just drive ourselves up to 182 and park in the lot of the small shopping mall (right across from Hazel's). The hotel's private entrance to the beach is directly across the highway from Hazel's. There was a continental breakfast which included belgian waffles (you make them yourself), biscuits/gravy, cereal, bagels, muffins, fruit cups, yogurt, etc. Pretty good for complimentary breakfast if you ask me! The beds were extremely comfy and the pool, gym and spa seemed to be extremely well maintained. The only negative I can even think to list is that the non-slip mat in the bottom of our shower kept coming loose and I slipped several times... but I told the management and they said they would take care of it. We ate at Cosmo's Bar and Grill for lunch...which I highly recommend. It was delicious. Overall, this was a very pleasant stay at a nice hotel.

We were apprehensive to book this hotel after we saw so many negative reviews, but most of the worst reviews did not make sense and seemed to be over-the-top critical, like someone had a grudge or was falsely badmouthing the hotel (this happens too often on TripAdvisor!). But because it is a Marriott, and that is our favorite when we travel, I booked our October stay there anyway. I was pleasantly surprised! This hotel is beautifully decorated in apple green & orange and looks like new, and very clean. Staff could not have been friendlier. Free breakfast buffet was great, and there was a friendly server there helping make waffles and taking care of guests. The only drawback may be that it is not directly on the beach, but that is why it is cheaper than some of the older hotels right on the sand. We actually like to walk and did not mind that it was a long block from the beach, but the hotel provides a golf cart shuttle if you have chairs and stuff to carry or don't feel like walking. You can see the Gulf from the 4th and 5th floors, and some rooms have sliding doors to a small balcony with outdoor seating. I actually liked the view from the back of the hotel best, overlooking a small lake and the pool. The hotel is nice and quiet, set back from the main highway the way it is. Loved the comfy bed, separate living area, flat screen TVs, microwave & mini fridge. We definitely recommend this hotel!

My husband & I were so impressed with this Fairfield's customer service and amenities! The front desk, breakfast ambassadors, GM and house keeping staff were all so welcoming & helpfull! The room was very comfortable & quiet with a fridge, large flat screen tv and had a huge bathroom with a fan :) The hotel is not straight on the beach however, it is a short walk (5 minutes tops). The Orange Beach Fairfield also offers to drive you to the beach (skipping the walk) in their golf cart. The hotel owns their own strip of beach access for honeymooners like our selves to go down and alleviate having to find beach parking. By the way, their breakfast is good too. We will be back again!

My family & I recently stayed here for a weekend at the beach. The staff were very nice and friendly. The breakfast was good. Our room was very nice and had a balcony overlooking the pool. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were very clean. The only thing that I would suggest would be to put in sidewalks along the sides of Loop Road which would make walking to the beach a little easier for those who don't wish to use the complimentary golf cart shuttle.

My husband and 11 month daughter stayed at this hotel during 4th of July for our 1st family vacation. We have stayed at plenty of Marriott's and thought this one was great! Our room was comfortable with a king size bed, the front desk was helpful and the breakfast was fab - it's free, I'm not sure why people complain. If you don't want it, then eat somewhere else!
It is not ON the beach, but still very convenient. When we were ready to go to the beach, we told the front desk and a golf cart brought us to the intersection - the beach is just across the street. We didn't have a problem with a stroller, our baby, a sun dome (for the baby) and 2 bags. You can call for a ride back, but we walked back with no problem. They have a private walkway that you can use and we didn't have any issues.
The Italian restaurant next to Walmart was excellent! Hope this helps! :)
We would stay here again!
