I'd like to thank Deborah and Greg, they very friendly and accomodating, and the breakfasts they prepared were amazing! The house itself is surrounded by a high rise on one side, a large private home on the other, and new construction in front, which obscures the beach view somewhat. We stayed in the Mardis Gras room which was small but had plenty of charm. Staying at the house was definitely a trip back in time, as there's no TV's or Internet in the downstairs rooms. This is an ideal place if you're seeking peace and quiet, and enjoy reading books. The pool is lovely and the hot-tub, though secluded, is nice and large. Be sure to visit Shipp's restaurant while in Orange Beach for tremendous off-the-boat
seafood!

I have been visiting here for years, even before Greg and Deborah took over, and I will be back again and again! Talk about southern hospitality; I always feel right at home! If you want a sense of community, you've got it. If you prefer your privacy, you've got it! Beautiful, peaceful location, good food, EXCELLENT hosts. You couldn't ask for a better retreat from the hustle and bustle of life. The place has never been cleaner or looked better than on my last visit. If you've never been here, you must try it for yourself. You'll fall in love with the place, just like so many others have, and I promise, you'll be back!

Room Tip: Any room is great.

Greg and Deborah were the perfect hosts-Breakfast each morning was to die for, the inn is beautiful, all the guests became fast friends right from the start. The beach is beautiful after a quick walk on the boardwalk. Its the kind of beach we were looking for..not crowded..dunes, shells, dolphins and QUIET! I highly recommend this B&B

As a single traveler, I spent 3 nights at the Original Romar House and feel rested and rejuvenated! Thank you Greg and Deborah for understanding the balance in availability as hosts and privacy needed that many bed and breakfast managers fail to get right. I enjoyed our great conversations at wine hour and breakfast. It was nice to have the security of having someone near but be able to come and go in the house as I pleased. The Marti Gras room on the ground floor was very nice with the stain glass features and had room for a love seat. The beach was just a very short walk down the wooden walkway and was some of the most beautiful I have seen. I rented a pair of wood chaises from the beach vendor next door at the condos for 30 dollars (multiple day discount available), and it came with cushions and an umbrella. Since it was the end of March, the beaches were not crowded and it was perfect for what I needed. The breakfasts were very good and filling. There are good restaurants, stores and activities nearby if that is what you want. I will definitely be returning!!

Room Tip: The Marti Gras is probably larger than most rooms downstairs and is bright due to being on the corne...

This was the best choice we made on our recent trip to Pensacola and the Orange Beach area. We stayed 2 nights and will definitely be back. The reception was very welcoming and the amenities are great. The house is very clean and well kept up. The house is very comfortable with its own bar, pool area and easy access to the beach.

Thank you so much for your kind words. Deborah and I both appreciate the effort folks like you make and taking your time to say a few words about the Original Romar House. We love the title "definite do over" because that says to us that you'll be sharing some time again with us in the future if you can. Happy Travels! Greg & Deborah

Just now getting around to writing a review for our stay during April 2012, and everything was absolutely perfect! First time to visit Orange Beach, so I literally spent days researching the internet and happened upon this B&B (I refuse to stay in a high rise). We selected the cottage which offered a full kitchen and gave us additional room to spread out. When we arrived (after an 8 hour drive) Deborah welcomed us and Greg assisted with our luggage and they are absolutely delightful. The grounds are immaculate and the rooms are extremely clean (very important). We enjoyed walking the clean and un-crowded beach, digging for shells, lounging by the pool, wine and cheese in the evenings -- it was great getting to know the other guests. The owner (Jerry) stopped by one evening and we literally laughed the night away...it was great fun for everyone! Since there are no children on premises, it was actually one of the most relaxing vacations I have ever had and the bountiful and delicious breakfasts on the patio was incredible. We had a totally unexpected bonus on the last morning of our stay...steak and eggs (because we stayed a week) and the other guests were somewhat envious! I can wholeheartedly recommend the original Romar House for anyone visiting the area and although we were unable to visit in 2013, we certainly hope to return in 2014. Thank you Jerry for maintaining this beautiful beachfront property and not allowing a big corporation to destroy this little piece of heaven on earth. Thank you Deborah and Greg for making sure everything was perfect for our stay. Your friends....Tammy and Martha from Nashville

What a wonderful B&B! Deborah and Greg gave us just the right balance of privacy and lively conversation. Room was comfortable and the furnishings and atmosphere fantastic. Grounds were beautiful. The breakfast was superb. We will most definitely be back!

Room Tip: There was no fitness center. The south rooms are the best for the view.
