Soul food at its finest. Great food from folks who have passion for what they make. The folks are happy to see you and want to make sure you have enough to eat just like grandma's. The food is wonderful and the service staff is so friendly makes this a sure place to take family and friends.

“Home Cooking with a Gourmet Twist”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

I am VERY picky about my Southern cooking. This was not "messed with;" it was enhanced to perfection. The slaw is to DIE FOR. The veggies were perfect. The collards tasted fattening but they had no fat in them. How do they DO that? I wish they could take up residence in my house and cook.

“A little gem worth seeking out”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

If you want authentic Southern cooking in a warm and friendly restaurant, the Brown Bag is worth finding. The cinderblock building doesn't excude charm, but as you get near you smell the hickory wood burning out back. Great fried green tomatoes, catfish and BBQ.

“Hidden Gem”

Dont be fooled by the exterior, this is a great little "hole in the wall" place to get mean and veggies. They have some of the best Lima beans that I have ever had in my entire life!
