Ribs were a bit on the tough side, but the sauce was tasty. Sides of potato salad & coleslaw were good. Banana pudding was outstanding.

Always good and consistent. Bought a bunch of pulled pork to a tailgate and it went fast. Good coleslaw too.

My husband wanted to try DreamLand for his birthday. I was a bit skeptical of us going to a BBQ place for his dinner, but it was his birthday. We got there around 6pm, which was great because by the time we left, the crowd was huge. The restaurant was very clean and the employees were very nice. Once seated, our waitress brought out a plate with five slices of bread and a cup of warm BBQ sauce. We were so outdone because it was the best thing we'd ever had. Granted, we were both raised in the country and are no strangers to the bread or BBQ sauce, but who knew that simple combination would be so good?! As an appetizer, we got the BBQ chicken quesadilla and the 1/2lb sausage, that was accompanied with three more slices of bread! They were both delicious! So much so that I only got 2 pieces of the quesadilla and 2 pieces of the sausage. :-) For entrees, I tried the DreamLand wings and my husband got the 1/2 rack of ribs and fries. Everything was great! We also tried the banana pudding. It was great as well. We had to take to-go boxes! The prices were great as well.

DreamLand is definitely a place we will be revisiting.

Dreamland is a good BBQ joint. On a bama gameday, it's filled with fans all wearing their crimson and white. Ribs are good, better than average, not earth shattering. The sauce, which is available for purchase, is outstanding. Nothing washes down the meat like an Arnold Palmer which is also done quite well at the restaurant. Good food, good atmosphere, great sauce. Recommended.

The one and only original Dreamland, operated by Bid Daddy John Bishop off the road in Jerusalem Heights can never be duplicated to a "Tee." The menu was simple. Bones, bread, sauce, and those little bags of chips. As the slogan went "There's nothin' like -em no where.

However, the Dreamland tradition carries on with franchised locations including this one in Northport, Al. Reviews for the franchise locations are all over the map--from excellent to terrible. To each his own. For this reviewer, the ribs and original Dreamland sauce remain the best you can find anywhere. If you're not in the mood for ribs, have a barbecue sandwich. Get your meat chopped, sliced or pulled. If you want to pick up your sandwich and eat it, ask for the sauce on the side or be prepared to leave with a shirtfront dotted with drips of that good sauce. Hungry? get the Big Daddy, a full eight ounces for $7.45. Sides are extra. Or, go for the Little Daddy, a smaller sandwich including a side. Either way, it's good Southern barbecue.

Now, about those sides...for the barbecue purist you don't need them. If you have to have them, they'll run up your ticket quite a bit and you'll question the value of your meal.

The franchise locations also offer a decent Brunswick Stew for $3.25 a cup and $5.95 a bowl. Not bad. But it could use a little extra zip in the seasoning.

If you're scanning reviews of this location, either skip the "terrible" ratings or visit the original location in Jerusalem Heights. For this reviewer, you can't go wrong visiting either place.
