This is a great place for Southern Homecooking! They are known for their fried chicken. Each day they have a variety of vegetables to choose from to go along with several meats. It's usually crowded at lunch, with a short wait time. They also have delicious homemade pies. Servers are very attentive, and keep your ice tea glass full. I hope visitors to this area will give Martin's a try!

“Deep fried charm”

I don't know why you'd go to Montgomery. Its a sleepy little southern town without much character and one inwhich they roll up the sidewalks at 8 pm on Friday night and don't unroll them until Monday. But, hey, thats your business. Lets assume you find yourself in Montgomery and you're hungry. That leads us to Martins.
Martins is everything good southern cooking should be. The chicken is crisp but juicy, the lima beans cooked so long you can gum them, the pies enjoy 8 inches of mirangue and everything is cooked in lard. Whats not to like?
The service is sweet and it seems many of the staff has been there since, well since, before Rosa Parks put Montgomery on the map.
In what appears a deliberate attempt to dissuade Yankees and visitors, Martins is only open til 7:45 pm and is closed Saturdays. And yes, I did say 7:45 - like I said if you want "late night" grub Montgomery isn't your town.
