My wife and I stayed for 2 nights at the Staybridge while house hunting in the Montgomery area. The hotel itself is wonderful but what makes it truly special is the staff that works there. Every person at the Staybridge is incredibly friendly and helpful. I especially would like to thank Nicki for making our stay memorable. The Staybridge offers a great breakfast every morning as well as complimentary beer and wine in the evenings. The other guests' children seemed to be enjoying the pool and basketball court. The best were very comfortable and the rooms nice and spacious. The location is perfect, located in a great shopping area and very convenient to I-85. My family will definitely be staying here again the next time we come to Montgomery. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Also, the hotel has a terrific military rate and is very accommodating for military families. A great place to stay while waiting for quarters to open up.

my husband and I stayed at Staybridge in Alabama. This was one of the best stay at a hotel in a long time. We travel quite often on mini vacations every year and this year was Alabama. The staff was very professional and hospitable with that southern hospitality. Two of your staff members stood out Ms. Nancy and the young black female at the front desk. They made us feel special and like royalty. Staybridge is the model for all hotels, motels and inns. Ms. Nancy and the young female clerk are the model staff members for any hotels, motels and inns. Staybridge will be our home away from home stay. This time it was my husband and I and it will be for our family also. We stayed on dates May 3-5, 2013. Thank you.

Had an awesome time!!! Love the area and the many amenities at the hotel. My check in process was a breeze. The clerk Deantry was so professional and helpful . His personality came off very bright and welcoming to my husband and I. He gave us many choices to view in the Montgomery area. Even though I thought it was gonna be a dry trip. Everything worked out just fine. The downtown area is very lovely but seem to be getting updated. My very first time staying at a Staybridge. Was kinda confused on behalf of what company it fell under.

We travel a LOT and this is one of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed at. The location is EXCELLENT with lots of restaurants and shopping nearby.

Our first complaint. Upon making the reservation several days before, I was told that if we arrived early and the room was ready, we could check in before 3 p.m. We arrived at 2:20 and were greeted by a snarky front desk clerk, Deantry. I didn't even get a complete sentence out of my mouth ("My name is XXXX and we're checking in."), before he cut me off mid-sentence, stating rudely, "Check in is at 3 p.m." I told him what we were told about early arrival and he said the rooms "were not in the system yet". I asked what that meant and he just replied "it means they are not in the system." Mmmm, okay.

We grabbed a cup of coffee from the refreshment area and sat at a table. I watched as two other guests came in and they were told the same thing. I went back to the counter at 2:40 and asked if the rooms were in the system yet and he said "No, they are not." I asked if this was a usual occurrence and he said "it happens all the time". Really? That close to 3 p.m. and NONE of the rooms are in the system??? He was once again, very abrupt and rude and we were getting antsy because we had somewhere we had to be at 3:30 and this snarky little clerk was going to make us late.

At 2:55 I approached the desk again and he seemed quite annoyed. As I tried to ask about the room, the phone rang and he held up his hand as if to say "stop talking". I was so angry by now at his behavior that I walked back to my husband to tell him we should just find another hotel. About this time, (approximately 2:58), another gentleman came walking through and went behind the desk. The first clerk, grabbed his things and stomped out the door, never saying a word to anyone.

We approached the desk and the new clerk (Brandon), could see our puzzled expressions. I told him we were trying to check in but were told numerous times that the rooms were not "in the system yet". He was able to check us in in under 2 minutes. The rooms had been in the system all along! I asked what the first clerk's problem was and why we were told that and Brandon said he had no idea what was going on but he apologized profusely. Throughout our stay we interacted with Brandon several times and he was always very polite and extremely helpful. We never saw Deantry again.

Our second complaint. Upon going to bed, we lowered the thermostat as low as it would go but it stops at 65 degrees, you can't go lower. For some that might be fine (even cold), but I do not have a thyroid and have no control over my internal body temperature. About an hour after falling asleep, I began to get hot. I threw off the covers, turned the ceiling fan on high, and checked the thermostat again. It still would not go lower than 65 degrees. I got so hot I almost threw up. At one point I threw a sheet on the bathroom floor and laid there for close to an hour. It was miserable in the room. My husband (who still has a thyroid), also got too warm. He said he couldn't feel any cool air circulating in the bedroom area at all. It was a long, hot night.

The breakfast was standard fare; cereal, muffins, fruit, boiled eggs, yogurt, oatmeal, bagels, make-your-own waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, cream gravy, biscuits, coffee and juice. Nothing fancy, but certainly made to look that way. The breakfast area is lovely and the breakfast staff are very friendly and helpful.

They have an outdoor, heated, saltwater pool that we did not have time to use, but we'll certainly give it a dip the next time we're there.

I would stay at this hotel again. It's beautiful, spacious, and offers lots of amenities. I would however, request that the thermostat box be unlocked so that we could be more comfortable while sleeping. I would also be suspicious of anyone telling me the "rooms are not in the system" at check-in time.

If you stay here, you HAVE to eat at Mimi's Cafe, just up the street a couple of blocks . The food is AMAZING!!!!!
