“he lived here!!!”
Reviewed May 10, 2014

this was the house where MLK lived as a young preacher and new father. he was allowed to live here as the pastor of the dexter baptist church - and you MUST go here and see where he and Coretta lived with the first child and made the second!

“A walk in history”
Reviewed April 24, 2014

We had a personal tour of the parsonage for some men who were chosen to lead the Dexter Ave. Church. The most famous was MLK Jr. We really enjoyed the tour as the church members did an excellent job of maintaining the home in the way it was when MLK lived there with his young family. It is a must see in Montgomery, AL Well worth the trip.

“Walk through MLK Jr's home in Montgomery”
Reviewed April 22, 2014

See a movie about the history of the home that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. lived in while he was pastor. You start by watching a short video and then tour the actual home. Great history lesson.

“Be sure to call to view this and the Dexter Ave Church”
Reviewed April 7, 2014

We stopped in Montgomery on our way to Florida for Spring Break. We only got to view the outside of the home and see the spot where the bomb actually hit the porch (there's a marker) because you have to call to view the museum. Also call to view the Dexter Avenue Church museum. There's also a house a few doors down of another civil rights icon (look for the Historical marker). Be sure to visit the Rosa Parks Library on Troy Univ. campus and the Civil Rights monument and museum. They are all within blocks of one another.
