Good room, good wifi, good breakfast. I like this chain overall because the rooms are spacious and (generally) clean, the breakfast offerings are good and high speed internet is free.

But why oh why are these always tucked in behind another hotel or restaurant, so that you have to cut through another business's driveway to get in?

The staff was very courteous and helpful. The hotel was convenient to local restaurants, shopping, and a short drive to the downtown/capitol area. The breakfast was good...eggs, sausage, gravy, biscuits, waffles, fruit, cereal, bagles. My child enjoyed the swimming pool and the ping pong table. We had WiFi in the room and took the laptop to the pool area also. The rooms were clean and neat.

Stayed one night on our way to Disney. The kids liked the fact that the pool area was open 24 hours a day since we arrived late in the evening. Room was small and the layout was odd. Beds were comfortable, room was quiet, and we were able to get a good nights sleep. The breakfast was very good, it had hot items, eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy as well as cold items.

Located in motel row right off interstate. Surounded by budget motels, this is the higher-end option on block. Not really worth the extra $30 compared to motel in front of it. Nothing major wrong, just little things: not enough pillows on bed, tv choices limited (but with several Korean channels), no trash can in room, loudest ice machines I've ever heard, odd room layout with bathroom door at foot of bed. On other hand, indoor pool area was nice and breakfast was well above average: good eggs, sausage and bacon, fresh fruit and other options.

Despite the good breakfast, I'll probably stay at one of the neighboring properties next time.

When the manager of the hotel gives you her home phone number, you know this is a hotel that really does care. We booked a funeral party at the last minute. It's conveniently located between downtown and the newer, more upscale east side that includes the Shops at Eastchase (only about 5 minutes away). The atmosphere is very homey, warm colors and traditional furnishings give it more of a bed and breakfast feel, especially in the lobby and breakfast room. The suites are well appointed. Executive suites have a shower and jacuzzi garden tub with vanity and wet bar with granite counter tops, king size beds, sofa sleeper and lots of room, two TV's, etc. The owner can be spotted every morning walking the breakfast room to make sure the eggs, ham, bacon, biscuits & gravy, pastries, bagels, cereals, fruit and yogurt is being served in plentiful quantities. They even have a self serve waffle iron where you can pour your own batter and grill up a hot waffle. The Maxwell House coffee machine pumps out freshly brewed coffee 24 hours a day (I can't figure out the technology behind it, but the coffee streams out instantly and has that fresh brewed taste every time you push the button). The juice machine dispenses orange, cranberry and apple juice. Now like most hotels in this price and class range, its filled with kids. But one call to the front desk and a scary looking security guard will clear your hallway in 5 minutes. They have a standing 10:00 pm curfew for kids and security is good about quieting things down by 10:30. The brand new hotels will criticize this place as an "older property" but that is really laughable. I found it to be up to modern standards in decor, furnishings, cleanliness and amenities from the room decor to the high speed wireless and computer room. The hotel must have been remodeled within the past few years. The "fresh paint smell" is gone so if that's what you're looking for then go further east past the Shops at Eastchase and try the Staybridge (which is really, really nice and much pricier). The staff here really does care and is responsive to your requests. My maid even came back later in the day to make sure I had the latest channel guide. Consider this one of those branded, chain quality properties but with an onsite owner and attentive manager to make sure the staff has pride in their work and meets their standards every day.

For around 100 a night, I generally expect a clean comfortable room. We get to our room, and there is food and garbage on the floor under one bed, and we didn't have to look hard to find it so I'm guessing housekeeping only gave the room a "once-over". Worse yet, when we go the front desk about it, the only response we get from the afternoon clerk was "oh wow, really?". No letting us change rooms, no apologies, no offer to send someone up to clean, even.
There was no enjoying the tiny pool as it was full of screaming wee ones (not the hotel's fault, but there was no place quiet to relax besides our dirty room). Then when we finally just try to sleep, the other screaming starts. Sounded like a poker game or some other drunken activity that was getting wild. It was only like 10pm, but the noise was horrible after a long day driving.
The breakfast dining area is too small for the hotel, but the hot breakfast spread is not bad if you don't mind waiting for a table. The morning clerk had no apologies for our filthy room either. Overall, very disappointed in this hotel and can NOT recommend it. There are plenty of hotels at this same exit, the Sleep Inn looked decent and there are more on the west side of the exit.

Country Inns are my favorite chain by far, I've stayed at many and have never had a problem, till this one! Although it's got the wonderful "Country" feel (well appointed lobby, very welcoming), the property was very old and in need of attention. The neighborhood wasn't the greatest for a traveller (lots of businesses and a busy street, next to a lot of lower end hotel chains, the better chains were the next exit up the highway.)

Our 1st room was next to the side doors, which SLAMMED every few minutes as people came and went. We heard every single person that used the door. This problem could be solved with a simple pneumatic assembly to lightly shut the door (you've seen em everywhere). Anyway, the room itself was clean but felt very very old. While "clean", most of the bathroom was stained and discolored from years and years of use. The tub was gross, in desperate need of some bleech. The TV remote was duct taped shut and was covered in some sort of white goo.

After a few hours of the slamming we asked for another room. The lady up front sympathized with us and didn't question us at all, it seems like a common occurance. We moved up to the 2nd floor to discover the majority of the floor was rented out by a school group, meaning we were in for a long night! The walls and doors were so paper thin that we heard conversations that were literally hundreds of feet down the hall, and every time someone walked by, the floor creeked and the door rattled. The room was just as "old" feeling as the 1st, the bathroom in just as bad shape. The cabinet door for the fridge was broken off and laying there.

Anyway, it was not Countrys best Inn, in fact I'd venture to say it's one of their worst. I have given Country a lot of loyalty because they've always been top notch, but they majorly stumbled here. Time to sell the property and get a newer, better location, I wasnt even aware that Country operated places this old!
