We ate there Friday (02-17-2012). We stopped in Montgomery on our way to Orange Beach. There was an estimated 45 minute wait and we almost sat at the bar but a table opened up before we did. The hostess had given us one of the buzzers that was supposed to buzz and light up when the table was ready but we should have know it wouldn't work when she gave it to us and said " I think this will work". It did not.
The gumbo is very good, My wife had the tuna and you can order it to your preference. We like sashimi grade tuna on the rare side. She ordered it blackened, medium rare with the sauce on the side. They forgot to put the sauce on the side but other than that it was very good. Next time I would order it rare. The grilled oysters were good as an appetizer but something happened and they "lost out appetizer order". We got it after we received our food but the manager came over and apologized and told us the appetizer was on the house. The broiled seafood platter was good, a little pricey but considering how much food was there is was reasonable.
The crawfish/shrimp Étouffée was a let down for anyone that has had the same in Baton Rouge or somewhere similar. All in all it was very good and we liked the atmosphere and the service. Having never been in downtown Montgomery, we liked the surrounding area as well. This section of Montgomery seemed clean and modern.
