Pros: Not crowded at all. Sky LIft was awesome. You can bring your own picnic lunch in which saves on eating out. Almost all the animals were visible - elephant exhibit is one of the best we've seen. Also saw quite a few animals we hadn't seen before. Very shady so lots of protection from the hot sun. Small but plenty to do. Kids loved the playground. Giraffe encounter was only $2.

Cons: Expensive (with military discount we paid $47 for admission and a trip on the Sky Lift for our family of four). Not as many animals as you'd think - for example there is one alligator, one cougar, one bear - when that one animal naps there isn't much to see. On the flip side, there were plenty of animals to see.

Food was hot and child friendly. The had something to offer for lunch that everyone could enjoy. Price was reasonable and you can eat inside or out on patio.

This was my first trip to the zoo since my kids were little and I was very surprised by the cost to enter. It's very expensive $12 per person. The zoos out of town are larger and around the same cost. The food was terrible and very expensive also $8 for a burger, fries and a drink which is very small. The kids meal was $7 with 4 over cooked nuggets, hard fries and a juice in a plastic cup with no lid for a child. The people that worked in the eating area were rude short and acted like they didn't care. The customer service was terrible. I understand that the economy is in a slump right now but this is a rip off!!!

This was another of our yearly visits to family, more often than not a trip here is planned. We love this zoo, it's easy to walk around and all the animals are in pretty natural settings. The new Sky Ride opened on the day we went, it carries you over the central area of the zoo and is well worth the trip, you see animals from a whole different perspective. We also visited the indoor Mann Museum exhibit while there for the 1st time. Do not be put off by the small entrance. The trip round is pretty extensive and it was much larger than we expected. There is some fantastic exhibits inside, great because it's far cooler, and some of the taxidermy is amazing. The new bird enclosure which visitors can enter is great fun also. The sprinklers hanging from the trees around the park are great for a light misting of cool water for visitors in the heat
We will continue to return when visiting family

This is definitely one of the smaller zoos we've been to over the years, but it was a nice one! We got through the whole zoo in just under two hours. Though we may have rushed some since it was so hot outside. We'll definitely go back when it isn't so hot -- though we have a reciprical zoo membership, so we don't have to pay. I don't think I would pay full advertised price to see this small zoo. If you have a large family (we are a family of six), the zoo membership is the way to go! Go twice and it is paid for!
