Looking for a change from the restaurants on the bay, we decided to try The Royal Scam on the advice of a friend. We arrived at 6:30 and it was not crowded at all but an hour later most tables were full. Had the gumbo as a starter, it was good, not the best but still good. Had the blackened red snapper special for dinner and it was great. Grilled very nicely with a delicious sauce. Service was very quick, friendly, and stopped by many times to check if anything else was needed.

We were staying at the Hampton Inn nearby. We read the great reviews and thought we would give it a try. The menu was broken into 2 categories. Full dinners, and sandwiches/panini's/salads. The atmosphere was great. It was a bit crowded, but we were instantly seated at a table near the window. Staff was attentive and friendly.

I had a seared tuna wrap with a mango relish side and green salad side (yes, you get 2 sides). It was terrific! My wife had green salad with grilled shrimp and she was really happy with it. The kids had the duck panini, and grilled chicken. My oldest is really picky, and asked if we could come back. Prices were very fair.

Highly recommend!

Fun local place we stopped at for lunch. Our food arrived really quick and was delish! The bread pudding was fantastic.

Perhaps it was because we caught the afternoon chef, but dinner was not as good this time. The steak was overdone and covered in a brown sauce (likely to hide the poor grill job). The crab cake had too many fillers and looked deep fried, not pan fried.

Hopefully this is not a trend. I really enjoyed it last time.

Food is adventurous and mostly hits the mark. Fun takes on the ubiquitous redfish. Save room for the bread pudding. Not exactly diet food, but it is worth it!
