Holiday Inn Express & Suites Mobile West - I-65

The accomodations were fine, but the staff could care less. The breakfast ran out and their were no plates, but after being asked to replenish the plates, nothing was done. The desk staff was too busy talking to another group of "rag heads" to assist the general population.

We liked this hotel alot. The rooms were fresh and clean. Everything was working and in good order for our group of soccer girls. The breakfast bar staff were friendly and nice variety. There is a sort of nonchalant attitude with the office staff, but other than that...if we spoke to them, they spoke back. Enjoyed our stay.

We picked this hotel because it has an indoor pool and we were celebrating my son's birthday with 2 of his friends in Mobile. The pool was fine, but that was the only good thing there. Well, if you don't count the fact that we had to go hunt down pool towels.

The sleeper sofa still had used sheets on it, and the blanket in the closet was dirty. I called the front desk and they said I had to come down to get clean linens, there was no one available to bring them up. So down I go, and then the blanket they try to give me is obviously dirty, and he says they have no more.

The breakfast was a disaster - I don't have time to go into all the details, but it was way too crowded because it seems they designed the area for about 10 people, yet there was about 30 people trying to get food and a place to sit when we went to eat around 8:45 on a Sat. morn. Also the lady who was supposed to be working the breakfast area was rude and not helpful, and of course they ran out of almost everything.

We emailed the owner or manager (whoever it was on the business card we got when we left) and explained all the problems we'd had, but that was weeks ago and we have not gotten a reply. It's just a real shame, because it could be a really great hotel. We were thinking we'd have my daughter's party there in May, but now we have decided not to go back.

This is a drive-up hotel. This is evident if you study the hotel photos - which I did not prior to booking this room. I have had many experiences with Comfort Suites in the past and they had all been consistent and positive....until this trip. The front-desk person was friendly. The room was dirty and outdated. The vanity was straight from the 1970's - swirled blue and white porcelain (?) and is was clogged a majority of our stay. The carpets were matted and dirty. The blankets beneath the bedspread were old and tattered. The flat sheet that was on one of the beds was new. So new that is was still hard and was holding it's creases as if it came straight from the packaging and was placed onto the bed without being washed first. The sheet was very low quality and was hard and itchy. The coffee maker was broken. The air-conditioning unit was old and very dirty. I am not an upscale hotel client that expects 4 star accomodations at a 1 star price. I recognize that differences come along with varying price-points among hotels. However, this was clearly a case of a hotel banking on it's chain name and charging more than they should for the service and product it was providing. I highly recommend this hotel only as a last resort. If there is no other choice, please request a rate that reflects the quality.

As soon as we opened the door to our room, the air were at an comfortable temperature. The bedding was fresh and clean. There wasn't a odor to be found in our room. The kitchenette was mini, but ok. The bathroom was huge. In which made our 4 nites stay quaint. The best part is the amount of money we spent. You cannot beat the price. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. You won't go wrong. 24 hr room service to whatever we needed, belgian waffles each morning the kids were in heaven.
