Hampton Inn & Suites Mobile Providence Park/Airport
Ranked #2 of 64 Hotels in Mobile
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed December 12, 2007

Recently had the opportunity to go to Mobile for the second time this year and did not hesitate to book again at the Hampton Inn Providence Park since we had such a nice stay earlier in the year. ( see earlier review ). We stayed for 4 nights this trip.
We will first say that the hotel, the lobby, hallways, public areas, pool etc. was as new and fresh and clean as before. Beds are extra nice and housekeeping was excellent. Breakfast had a large variety of items including hot items and it was nice to have the coffee/tea & hot chocolate bar open 24/7.
Our only complaint this trip was that at about midnight one night , the fire alarm went off (They said some kids in the pool area pulled the alarm) and no one on site knew how to turn it off. The fire department arrived and even they could not get the alarms turned off. We have been in hotels 2 or 3 times when alarms have gone off and we can honestly say we have NEVER experienced such LOUD and PIERCING alarms.!! There was no escape, except to get up and go out of the building. but we kept think surely this darn thing will stop soon. It must have gone on at least 25-30 minutes and just as we thought it was off, it would come on again. After we knew for sure it was a false alarm, we tried to cover the alarm with a pillow and covered our son's head with a pillow to literally protect his ears, it was that piercing! The next moring my husband said he felt like he had spent the previous night at a Guns& Roses concert!
At check-out when we commented about our lack of a restful nights' sleep and the danger of the high and loud pitch of the alarm, the front desk staff seemed disinterested and sort of dismissed the whole thing and told us it wasn't the hotel's fault. What happened to the Hampton 100% guarantee? It wasn't a big enough deal to us to take it to the next level, but as long time Hilton Honors members, we would have at least liked to have had a simple apology ...but maybe we got one and couldn't hear any longer. I think our ears were still ringing at the time.
We would certainly go back to the hotel. It is a great hotel...clean and new and well kept. We just hope we are never there again when urchins are pulling the alarms!

This is a new property and the beds are excellent. If you want a great place to stay with a good location in Mobile, I would recommend this property for the price and location. The beds are so comfortable just like at home.

The internet wasn't working properly when we were there. It was slower than dial up which was the only problem with our stay.

I would recommend staying here anytime! It upholds the image and what we have come to expect from a Hampton Inn.

We stayed at this Hampton Inn & Suites last week for one night and have to say that it is by far the best Hampton we've ever stayed in. I travel quite a bit and don't usually take the time to complete the guest card, but I certainly did here. Decor is upscale, staff friendly, beds very comfortable and hotel is clean. Highly recommend staying here as opposed to the Fairfield Inn or other comparably priced hotels in the area.

While driving from Austin to Orlando for a week's stay, we stayed at this hotel on the way eastbound and had planned to stay in Hammond, LA on the way back (about 2/3 of the way each time). The stay eastbound was great. Hotel is new, clean, and has a very hospitable staff. In fact my only criticism would be the free breakfast - the only hot entree was an egg/bacon/cheese conglomeration that wasn't too healthy looking - and there wasn't any accoutrements for oatmeal (brown sugar or any other sweetener, for example). The fruit salad that they had also was JUST citrus - very, very acidic - too much so for me. Other than that, the hotel was great. Clean sheets, comfy pillows, and it was quiet at a very fair price.

On the return trip, the weather was so bad in Louisiana and a huge section of I-10 was closed, so we decided to stop early in Mobile, since the hotel had been so good. Breakfast had biscuits and gravy, and the same salad.

Would definitely stay here again (just grab some bagels at the Panera Bread down Airport Way from there on the way in)!

Great hotel! Check in was easy with nice friendly staff. I was even able to check-in early (11AM) with no problems. It is right off Airport Blvd. and near many other places. TGI Friday's and Bonefish Grill are within walking distance (basically just across the street). Bed was great, as was the free breakfast. Very clean, and housekeeping staff was friendly too. Wonderful experience!

I would agree with the earlier reviewer that this is a very nice Hampton Inn!

The setting is quite attractive with a grassy lawn and a canopy of live oak trees. We liked the new architecture, with a two-story lobby. Breakfast was very good, as was the nice size outdoor pool. The room is, of course, very comfortable.

There are many nearby dining options: TGI Fridays, Bonefish Grill, Wintzells, and Starbucks.

We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
