After shopping at the strip Mall area with my wife we went to The Wine Loft for some lunch. It was our first visit. Although there were a few tables taken it was nice, quiet and very clean with good lighting inside. Service was very prompt and the food served also very quickly. Pretty good wine selections (I have my own wine cellar at my home) and beer. The food was nicely presented looking good on the plate, apart from both appetizer and entree having a little too much salt the food was very good. I mentioned the salt which wasn't so much a complaint as an obseravtion. The manager took the appetizers off the bill which was a pleasant suprise and totally unexpected. Should we be back in the area we will visit again.

This place isn't so much a restaurant as it is a bar (hence the name). Wednesday is "steak night". Here's the deal - 9oz filet, potato, salad and asparagus for $20 bucks. Pros- the steak you could cut with a folk. Cooked perfectly. It rivaled what you would get at a top notch steak house. The cons- they aren't set up for substitutions, etc. What they offer is what you get. Regarding the 'steak night', they do give you a choice of a rib-eye, or T-bone (T-bone at a small up charge). The place is nicely appointed (friendly servers, cloth napkins/table cloths, tin ceilings and some nice artwork). It is small however, and you should make reservations. The reputation around town is for good food and poor service. Maybe it was just the night we went, but he service was fast and friendly, though I would say the servers are a little out of practice for food service; like the name says, it is a wine bar. We didn't order wine, but did ask for ice tea (also known as Southern Table Wine by the way). Sorry, didn't have any, only at lunch. Huh? That's just plain odd in Mobile Alabama.

Attended Christmas gathering here with a large group of colleagues. This is a franchise operation that is way over-rated. If you like paying $9.25 for a Crown Royal & Coke feel free to go here. Hence; it would seem they only want one-time clientele instead of repeat clientele. It is not that upscale although they feel that their location (strip mall) is. One good thing about their pricing...it keeps a lot of riff raff out.
