I wasn't really sure what to expect here at the fort since I read very different reviews, but I was very impressed with my visit. We were greeted at the Visitor Center by two very friendly faces. They informed us that the museum across the street was free today (we went afterwards). We then preceded into the fort. The fort is not original, but it is a very nice replica. There were several doors open on ground level of the fort where visitors could enter and look around - powder room, quarters, etc. You then may climb the stairs to the upper level where there are many cannons. From the upper deck you can also see where the interstate goes right under the fort! If you have any questions ask David! He was great. He even took us into one of the rooms on the ground floor and took us behind the glass that separates visitors from the scenes. He took a replica of a long musket off the wall so we could make pictures holding the gun! Definitely worth the short visit! The best part? It's free"

We enjoyed this museum and appreciated the connection to "Old Mobile". The heat shortened our stay but not our enjoyment of this site.
