Have been wanting to try the asam pedas here but kept missing it cos the place was forever crowded. This time I was more determined so I waited till I got a seat for myself and family. Thought of take-away but they no longer have take-away/packing nowadays, surprisingly! Staffs were not those friendly ones except for the young guys serving drinks. So just bear with some sour faces while you dine there. Dishes were already prepared in individual plates, something like buffet. So just take whatever you want to eat and ask for plates of rice from the staff. Then they will count the cost at your table, just make sure they note down correctly then pay at the cashier. the asam pedas was great, a close substitute to my mum's, just less spicy. the asam pedas comes with different types of fish that you can choose from; stingray, mackerel, etc. Beside asam pedas, I tried the paru belado (chilli lungs), fried chicken, fresh & fat prawns fried with salt and tumeric, lemak siput sedut (snail in coconut gravy) & salted egg. I've to say that their foods are really the type of comfort foods, the taste of home cooked dishes. No regret of waiting and dining here! Definitely a must to come back here the next time I visit Melaka.
