Have been wanting to try the asam pedas here but kept missing it cos the place was forever crowded. This time I was more determined so I waited till I got a seat for myself and family. Thought of take-away but they no longer have take-away/packing nowadays, surprisingly! Staffs were not those friendly ones except for the young guys serving drinks. So just bear with some sour faces while you dine there. Dishes were already prepared in individual plates, something like buffet. So just take whatever you want to eat and ask for plates of rice from the staff. Then they will count the cost at your table, just make sure they note down correctly then pay at the cashier. the asam pedas was great, a close substitute to my mum's, just less spicy. the asam pedas comes with different types of fish that you can choose from; stingray, mackerel, etc. Beside asam pedas, I tried the paru belado (chilli lungs), fried chicken, fresh & fat prawns fried with salt and tumeric, lemak siput sedut (snail in coconut gravy) & salted egg. I've to say that their foods are really the type of comfort foods, the taste of home cooked dishes. No regret of waiting and dining here! Definitely a must to come back here the next time I visit Melaka.

Recently drop by melaka to take the family to visit the historical places.

Called up a childhood friend for a recommendation of the local special so he referred me to the place.

I had ikan asam pedas (bony ikan parang) n siput masak lemak.

Apart from the annoyance of the fish bones the dish was just nice in terms of the spiciness for me.

The Siput lemak was also awesome

The space between each table is too narrow making it hard to place even a single baby chair. Water from the air-conditioner keeps on dripping. There was an aunty who goes from table to table selling kerepek/snacks persistently in that crowded space. The dishes are served on the counter and you have to pick them up by yourself. It's better to plan your dishes if you are going in large family, or you'll end up paying lots. I personally love their masak lemak daging salai, asam pedas for me taste just like any asam pedas that you can have around Melaka. nothing special. Not really kids friendly place as the dishes are quite hot and there's not much choice of non spicy dish for kids who doesn't eat spicy food.

Most of the food served has to be taken from the counter. they start their business quite early as compared to the other asam pedas restaurants. if you want to try their asam pedas(probably their signature dish), you should come around 11.30am when they just serve it. you can come earlier as there are other just as appetizing food served like ketam lemak cili padi etc.
the service is good, though take note mostly is self service. prices are affordable and in an acceptable range.

I was recommended by a friend here. The food is hot for those who does not eat spicy food, this is too spicy for me.

The price is affordable, quite cheap actually.

You don't order food here, just walk to their foos display area and take whatever you want.. They already plated their food, and price will. Be charged by plate.

Nice to eat in groups. Eating alone would be a little awkward, but who cares right?

Night market surround this Restaurant on weekend, so difficult to find it. Just remember 7 eleven. If you see one, then you are nearby.
