This was a great little hotel. It had a communal living room with free WiFi and a black and white cat and a couple of leather sofas (beware if you are sweaty not to get red dye from the red one on your clothes as a fellow traveler did).
We had a room at the back so it was very quiet. The shared showers were good and clean. Outside at the back was a balcony and ladders up to the roof. From the top there's an excellent view of roofs in the old part of Melaka.
The breakfast was good and simple - cornflakes, toast and marmalade or jam, fruit, tea/coffee. You could get tea/coffee any time of day.
The location is terrific - its right by the street market and a short walk to museums. Melaka is a terrific place to learn about the history of Malaysia.
The wooden shoes looked interesting and I didn't see as many in Langkawi - moral should have bought some there.
One of the 2 guys running the guest house studied EE in Birmingham UK - they were most helpful and welcoming to their delightful guest house. We also enjoyed meeting other guests.
