Since it was last minute and almost all the hotels were booked(peak season) I had to go for this hotel..the lobby looked grand but whn i entered into the room,it was a disappointment. the lock was broken, the bathroom doesn't even have toothbrush and paste, the towels are not clean..
unfriendly staff! the only thing i wud appreaciate is the view from 16th floor... not here again!!!

The place was dirty. The carpet smells. The floor is sticky. The food doesn't taste good. The room smells musky. The toilet isn't clean. The spa is hidden at some corner and is not the usual spa (you know what I mean). The locks are not user friendly. The beds are old and you can feel the springs in the mattress as if it's gonna spring up and stab you in the back. It's dim. It's dark. Not recommended. Period.

i was here today. at first my impression was 'owh it may an ageing hotel so it would look like this'. i walked to the bathroom, the towel damn dirty. it supposed to be yellow but the yellow is turning black with some dirt spots on it.
because the smells ok i just ignore the looks.
the blanket which was supposed to be bright white is turning grey! damn it!
we start to sleep and the best thing is we've being fighting the whole damn night with the bedbugs! i repeat THE WHOLE DAMN NIGHT! Such a waste spending a nite which was supposed to be cosy and peaceful turning to a war with those bedbugs can u just imagine from the smallest tiny grey color bugs, red color bugs until the bigest as a beetle size black in color? we smashed each of it the whole night untill the bedsheet full of blood spots.
i wont recomend this hotel to anyone. please avoid this hotel peeps!

Stayed on 12th floor with great views for 3 nights. The staff were friendly and helpful. Many restaurants found around this hotel. Their sauna and spa were splendid and not very crowded. The room is spacious and comfy. It rained heavily on the 3rd night and I felt like the building swayed a bit when stormy like in Wellington, NZ. Conmtacted the staff immediately but they did noit feel anything, but assured that it is a solid building. So went back to sleep.

I went there with my family somewhere around last year. When we reached there, the lobby looks nice and grand with marble and few settee for you to lounge and relax your day off. Then when we took the lift to the room, it was such a disappointment. The hotel smells dingy and the carpet is old and a bit dusty. The room is clean but it need a bit of touch up. The swimming are is not well maintained. The laundry area where they do the laundry and ironing which situated nearby the swimming pool are is messy and they just jumble things up on the hallway. I didn't know why it is poorly maintained, it could be great because this hotel is big, with a nice cafe (cafe downstairs has excellent food). I really hope that the management will do something about it.

The Emperor is an ageing hotel. Obviously it has seen better days but that doesn't mean you will not be impressed with the service and facilities. It could do with updating, there's no doubt about that.

As one of the tallest buildings in Melaka it offers excellent views of the city. The rooms themselves are fairly dated, however they contain everything you need and are very spacious. The value for money is excellent, you definitely get a lot for your money here. There is a pool you can use to cool down during the day which we had to ourselves every time we used it and the buffet breakfast will keep you going throughout the day.

The restaurant below offers cheap beers at night which we took full advantage of. The service at the Emperor is excellent.

We tried other (highly rated) accommodation in Melaka, however we returned to the Emperor as it was everything we needed.
