“Kampung Kling Mosque Melaka.”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

On 17th Sept 2013 we were delighted to visit this great ,beautiful, neat clean & wellkept place of worship standing side by side with an Hindu Mandir (Temple) in the hormony street of China town in the vicinity of Chinese temple of Melaka. We offered prayer after ablution from the pond in the court yard.Masjid inside is very beautiful. These places are living example of interfaith hormony & brotherhood in MALAYSIA.

“Kampung Kling Mosque - Closed for Restoration (April 2013)”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

Unfortunately during our visit to Malacca, we found the Kampung Kling Mosque closed for restoration so were unable to visit inside to see the interesting architectural design and the pagoda shaped minaret for which this mosque is somewhat famed.

Kampung Kling is located on Jalan Tukang Emas, what is called Harmony Street due the close proximity of this mosque to the nearby Cheng Hoon Teng Temple and Sri Poyatha Moorthi Temple. We felt this resembled, on a smaller scale, what you can see along Singapore's South Bridge Road where the very large Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, Sri Marimman (Hindu) Temple and Jamae Mosque almost side by side. It is nice to see religious people able to live so close to each other in harmony.

Not sure how long the restoration efforts will take place but you can still see the old watch tower which is sort of neat. We hope the restorations go well and that the Kampung Kling Mosque reopens for visitors in the near future.

“closed for repairs”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

The actual mosque is currently closed for major renovations. Seeing the old tower was interesting, but unless you just happen to already be walking down this street, I wouldn't bother seeking it out.

“What a religious Integration”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

Finding a Chinese Pagoda like "building" located within a Mosque territory is so amazing ! Another interesting point is that the temple is just next to the Jonker Walk, where the Chinese are mainly Buddhism dominant.

The acceptance of people with different religious belief to live together in harmony is observed.

“Old small mosque”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

This mosque is 150 years old and has a unique 3-tiered pyramidal roof and 6-tiered Chinese pagoda like minaret. You can walk inside of the little garden and sort of see the inside of the mosque which you can't enter unless you are a Muslim (doesn't seem fair considering we allow people of all religions to enter our Christian churches)
