Jonker Walk is a street that comes to life during the weekend (tips: for a memorable experience, try to avoid any given Saturday as it is crowded). Basically, there are many street foods, souvenirs, local delicacies and others. Beware of the crowd puller food stall near the stage as one need to ask about buying the drinks from them. Expect tongue-lashed from the aunty if u just sitting there with food but no water (this is bad for Malacca tourism but nothing much can be done). Some low-key shops next to Sports Toto shop sells cheap and small souvenirs which can be handy.

We ordered some food at hawker stalls at Jonker Street melaka for dinner. The food are lousy and no good. It would be relatively best to try the laksa or fried noodle in the stall instead of the street. It is not cheap and I would recommend a sit down dinner in a proper restaurant instead,

The markets at night are simply amazing with a mix of food, candy, Chinese medicines, herbs, spices, teas and wares, the buzz is awesome. There are plenty of stalls where you can sample the local food and there are restaurants down the side streets to sit at either inside or with outdoor seating. Not to be missed.

Hot, bustling, crowded and cheap souvenirs (none of which I bought). This is a totally touristy part of Melaka, but pretty fun! Definitely head down the street during the Saturday night market and then enjoy a Tiger beer to refresh before you make your way back down.
