A very small but well preserved building as well as the cannons. Considering the age of the building is over 500 years old, it certainly has stood the test of time. So many historic buildings are normally fenced off but they allow access to walk through and around the building.

“Check it out as you walk by to other sites”

An artifact of colonialism in the area, these crumbling building remnants are secured in places by brand new tubular steel -- good for the preservation but not so good for the aesthetics. Still a good spot for your group photo.

“A Famosa Fort”

Its a nice but toeristic place to go to in Melaka. At the old fort on top you can find a lot of dutch gravestones. The view from here is also nice. Its not big so the whole Fortress area you can visit in one hour.

“Just a little piece that remains”
Reviewed January 18, 2014

yes,it just a little piece but i can feel the strong sense of the history here.
this fort (gate) is gorgeous.located just down stairs the St Ruin Church,so it's like a package of the tour :)
the cannon makes it more historical.
i just spent approx 15 mins here as not alot to see,but really worth to come here.

“Not particularly impressive”
Reviewed January 14, 2014

The remains of fort are just next to St Paul's hill. There is nothing special except the marble plate on the fort explaining what it is. It is just part of the walk through as Melaka is just super small.
