Owner description: A restored Portuguese ship called Flora de la Mar makes for an impressive museum; Melaka’s colorful seafaring history is tastefully displayed within.

We enjoyed our visit to this unusual museum! The ship itself is fascinating and it's nice that you are allowed to walk around and explore it, inside and out. The museum is very informative, however I wouldn't recommend a long stay if you are not particularly interested in maritime history. Additionally, it is not very expensive.

Not bad at all as part of sightseeing. History of maritime in Melacca. Replica is quiet realistic with small museum inside. Nearby also few other museums, which we didn't visit.

we spent about 1hour here which expains the history of the Melaka Straits and all the trading which went on. Not expensive and worth a visit.

Melaka was an important maritime and trading hub for many years. This museum chronicles how that worked.

I liked the trade rout maps more than the displays with mannequins. By now on this trip, I've seen lots of these and have gotten the message that diverse peoples met here to exchange goods. Arabs, Chinese, Indians and so on.

I enjoyed the coverage of Magellan and Enrique of Melaka, his assistant (slave.)

If you have mobility issues, the stairs might be a problem. Some steep ones inside the ship.

Worthwhile, overall. Gives one an overview.

My first visit was in 2010.Do note the entrance fee.The ship is located near the Post office of Melaka town.Do note that you have take off your footwear and put then into plastic bags that are provided. Here the fun begins. If the day is how the wood will be scorching. The adage , no pain no gain applies here. All the history of this region is enlisted.
There are several decks.Once you exit you can wear your foot wear but you have to discard the plastic bag.
Once you see the sights you might not want to come out easily. There is a clear political undertone.
