Flora De La Mar was built in 1502 and sailed from Europe to Malaysia by way of India. Shipwrecked in 1511 full of riches. Today a replica of this ship house the first phase of the maritime museum. i like many of the other reviews did not really appreciate the interior of the ship with its displays. I would of much happier to see that also in its original configuration. still the displays are nice. i visited this city on a Legend of the Seas cruise and the museum was just a short walk from the landing. Looking out to my cruise ship it really brings some of the history into scale. The original Flora De La Mar would of fitted into the Casino of the Legend of the Seas. However crews sailed the original across the great seas. for me it was a sense of awe.
The second phase is next to the ship and offers a number of good displays concerning the early times of the area. at 3rm is is affordable and a good relaxed hour or so to view.
