“A Must Visit Filled With Trishaws For Hire”
Reviewed July 24, 2012

It's a congested tourist attraction and a good site to see wedding brides and grooms being photographed. There are many Trishaws for hire. Be careful the asking price is for 1 hour and you'll never see all the sites they tell you and show you on a colorful map - witihn 1 hour. They are State Licensed but you can bargin for a good deal to see as many sites as you want. Keep in mind street traffic is congested and slow moving.

The place looks good in the morning but looks more colorful in the evening with the lights on.

“"Colorful"”
Reviewed July 15, 2012

This is the historic center of town, very pretty all the buildings are in pink. Dutch architecture is every where in this square. It is most beautiful at night when all the lights are turned on.

“The Heart of Melaka - a starting point for your visit”
Reviewed July 11, 2012

My taxi took my to Dutch Square; the starting point for my visit. It's a great place to start - easy to get to Chinatown and Jonker Street, the Melaka River, as well as Little India and any other central areas. Really everywhere is accessible by foot in the central from Dutch Sq.

Dutch Sq. its self is so pretty, the buildings are beautiful, and you have a lot of good photo opportunities.

There are a lot of little market stalls selling bits and pieces of average stuff, and trishaws decorated with a lot of yellow red and pink. It's quite touristy but you can ignore that if you wish, and enjoy the historic setting of Melaka's town square.
