“Excellent way to see a traditional Malay house”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2014

One of the best places in Malaca.

Run by family members who show you around their home, a living museum.

It's a great way to learn about Malay traditions and family history.

It's also free but donations are appriciated!

“Brilliant!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2014

This original Malay house and its owners are fascinating. A brother and sister are always there to welcome visitors and delight in telling you about their life at Villa Sentosa and their family history. Lots of antiques from around the world which various family members have been given or collected. You can bang the gong, sit on the wedding chairs, nothing is too much trouble. There is no charge for entry but donations are gratefully received as these help with the upkeep of such a wonderful house.

“A highlight of Melaka”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014 via mobile

We were given a tour by Abraham, an heir who still lives in the home which has been there for generations. He took our pictures, explained, all the rooms, their functions, the heritage and more. We couldn't have been more pleased. Would highly recommend. No charge but donations are given. I should have given more, it's a privately funded tour of their home which you can reach by a not to long walk along the river. Or a short cab ride. A Melaka must!!!

“Loved it”

Brilliant the old lady who's house it is is so informative. It's a shame so much building work in the area. No charge either but we left a donation.
