“Short and insightful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2013

A nice short yet insightful tour of a real baba-nonya mansion. Make sure your finish with a meal at the delicious cafe on site, and bring home some baby nonya handi-crafts - they were cheaper than the souvenir shops elsewhere

It's a guided tour and the guide explain to us on most of the stuff that's in the museum. Price is 12RM, worth the price

“I've learnt something new there!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

The house-turned-museum looks small from the outside but actually it's quite far stretched inside.

I had always thought I knew quite a bit about the Peranakan (Baba and Nonya) Culture, but until I stepped in and listened to the tour guide did I realise I knew so little.

Our tour guide was Sabrina. She may appeared to be expressionless but she did inject some humour so the whole 50-min tour was actually quite interesting.

I shall not spoil the fun by revealing too much. What I can only say is that the RM12 entrance fee is really worthwhile!

“Interesting & Culture-Rich”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

Stuffy but tolerable. Upkeep and maintenance can be improved upon.

Displays are as organised as the actual house premises allow. Authentically fits into a Baba's home so that one can envisage what an actual live-in Baba premises is like.... without occupants.

Good if there is more information about other Straits-born or Peranakan communities other than that of the Baba-Nonya group.

Still, overall, worth a visit though photo-takin is not allowed and the walk-ways narrow as it is set in a house.
