Probably the best museum in Melaka, providing some great insights into Peranakan culture. A beautiful house with some lovely pieces. Definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended.

The Baba-Nonya Heritage Museum is a little jewel tucked away in one of the side streets in the old part of town. For a small fee you can visit this beautiful old house with a guide that will take time to explain the numerous pieces of jewellery, antiques and give you an insight into the life of these wealthy families living in Malacca.
Worth a look!

I love this antique house. The decoration and furniture inside the museum all had over 70-100 years history. Most of it are hand-made.The guide will show and explain to you.You will know how Baba and Nyonya's daily life, their wedding and funeral ceremony etc. There are several sessions of the tour guide in a day and we are managed to join the last session on 4pm.The ticket price is RM12 for adult,RM5 for children.Photography and recording are not allowed inside the museum.

Baba Nonya house transports you back to another time to see how the wealthy once lived and to view their beautiful artefacts and art works. There is an eclectic mix of European and Chinese furniture and beautifual Chinese wall hangings as well as all the paraphanalia of daily life.
The house is brought alive by the guides who talk not only about the house, but also about Chinese customs and the guide we had was beautifully dressed in a Baba Nonya costume.
This was the highlight of our stay in Melaka

My wife asked me to go and I had no idea of what it was going to be like. Glad I did as it's very well looked after with a number of antiques and if you get for the tour it's also educational. I would recommend to anyone going to Melaka.
