Stayed here for two nights..
The building used to be a warehouse, its converted into a two storey hotel. Take the room facing the river, very romantic, enjoying the Malacca river, Casa Del Rio, river cruise.
Rooms are spacious & clean. Decent breakfast choices, but one thing lacking is parking space.
The do have reserved parking across the road, but its limited to 10. So first come first served.
Internet wifi speed is slow.
Noise from the riverbank can be heard as the river cruise stops here, but bearable and stops at 10pm, so you can still get a good night sleep.
The location is great, walking distance to Jonker walk, the Red Buildings, A Famosa, Dataran Pahlawan..

Room Tip: Get the room facing the river

Nice and comfortable beds, Home sweet Home. The hotel facing to the sea, The room rates are affordable. Breakfast are good too. Staff introduce me where to eat and go, Good location. Clean and tidy room. Downside, Wall is little thin and I could hear television noise. Overall worth the price and nice to stay for just 2 nights.

Everytime I go Malacca I would opt to stay at hotel equatorial (or the recent hatten) without fail. However due to holiday period these hotels are all fully booked and I had no choice but to scout for other options.

Chanced upon quayside hotel at agoda and decided to give it a try. It was definitely a pleasant stay!

The hotel is at a strategic location, just 5 mins walk to JonKer street. So it's very easy to shop and deposit the stuff back at hotel and head out again. If you are heading to quayside, just look out for the Christ church. Directly opp is the red coloured Aldy hotel. Quayside is just behind, and facing the police station.

There are very few rooms, around 30odd. Two storey high. No Lift. So those with children may opt for rooms at ground level. Hotel is converted from an old custom warehouse. The decor is very quaint and has a nostalgic feel to it. Rooms are very clean. Beds are comfy and what's commendable is that the hotel provides two types of pillow - a firm pillow and a soft pillow. Very good compared to those soft flat ones you get at most hotels.

Toilet is small but good enough. Two areas that they can improve is probably to install a shower head and a shower curtain. Just having a rain shower is quite inconvenient. And without a shower curtain...because the toilet is small, the whole toilet and toilet seat is completely wet.

But all these are small issues

Free Wi-Fi in room. And signal is strong. Not much channels on tv. Have not checked out the breakfast but that's secondary.

Will consider quayside for my next visit!

Note: when you book you may want to opt for the rooms facing the river. Will be quieter at night. Superior rooms are all facing the street and with jonKer street nearby...it can be a bit noisy with all the traffic.

The hotel is strategically located to most tourist spots espcially Jonker Street. The room are excellent with modern design, spacious and clean.

Just one thing to comment which the floor and walls are too thin thus is can get a little noisy during the day time.

Overall, definitely will come back and stay again.

Room Tip: Try to get the room facing the river.

As with many who have reviewed this hotel, this place wins hands down in terms of location. It is across the road from the historical site and a 2-minute walk to Jonker.
Our room was new (this place is only 7 months old!) and we had a nice balcony in our room overlooking the river, which made for a great hangout place when we retired to our room after a night of walking the night market at Jonker.
One thing to note was the wooden floors which made much noise whenever someone walked past our room or when our neighbor closed his doors. The other thing is carpark, or the lack of a proper carpark. Staff was particularly helpful with it came to helping to find parking lots and were apologetic when the reserved lots for hotel guests were all taken up. Not a big problem, just something to take note of.
Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay close enough to Jonker!

Room Tip: Premium rooms come with balcony overlooking river. Higher floor has less noise from wooden floor (le...

Nice enough minimalistic decor. I've shopped there before when it housed a souvenir shop and was thrilled to see it is now a hotel. The room facing the city was rather bare and the hot water didn't work. Apparently when maintenance was carried out they forgot to turn the heater back on so we endured a cold shower that night. The interesting bit came the next morning when we went to Halia restaurant for breakfast. When we came down to the lobby we asked the receptionist if we could go to the restaurant via the adjoining door instead of going out the front door and then entering Halia from the main road. She said yes and pointed us to the adjoining door beside the reception. But when we went through the adjoining door, we were stopped in our tracks by the Halia supervisor who told us we were not supposed to use this entrance. He was polite but we faced a barrage of questions when we said the receptionist pointed us in this direction. "Which receptionist? What's the person's name? Male or female?" For heaven's sake, just put a sign on the door to say 'Please use the main entrance' if you don't want your guests coming in from the adjoining door! But we enjoyed the breakfast and overall it was an enjoyable visit to Melaka.

Room Tip: Book early to get a river view

Fantastic hotel. Excellent location, design and atmosphere. Everything was brand new, great view on the river and a very easy walk to all attractions and malls. The adjoining restaurant has the best coffee I've had in Malaysia so far. Recommended.
