Having read about this place so much, we decided to walk over from our hotel (Hatten Hotel Melaka) for a breakfast.
This small little restaurant was crowded with local folks from Melaka as well as tourists like ourselves.
We had to wait a while for a table and even longer for our meal. We ordered a serving of their famous Bak Kut Teh and a small portion of braised pork trotters.
The wait was worth it. First of all, the pork was tender (not tough like other BKT places we had tried before), the soup full of flavors and not overpowering. The dish came with some mushrooms and some celery, which made it a nice combination. The braised pork trotters was in a very nice gravy but the meat used was too fatty for my personal taste. The accompanying yam rice was nicely cooked with small chunks of yam.
