“Fun Place with nice theme parks”

Actually me & husband likes to travel . Had came to this place a few times, we both like animals. We stayed at the Condo D'Savoy Family Studio. Room is like an apartment with living hall & balcony. Nice place. Heard from their reception that they are in the midst of constructing the swimming pool. Stayed 2 nights at this resort. Food price is a little expensive but have quite a number of outlets to choose from. They are more for family as inside you can see Water World, Safari World & Cowboy Town. I personally likes safari -Elephant Show & Bird Show! Animals are great at performing! Wondering how they managed to teach elephants to draw and Birds to sing & mimicking sounds!
In evening we went to Cowboy Town. Enjoy their red Indian show & carnival show. The best part is the fireworks at the end of carnival parade. A'Famosa actually has fireworks every night!
One negative thing is maybe the location is too big. You really have to drive in order to reach the desired destination. Else you can pay shuttle bus service at RM1 per trip.
I will go to A'Famosa again to see those cute & fun animals.

Being that we live in Singapore, I am always looking for short trips around S.E. Asia where I can take my family for a fun and interesting time. Unfortunately, A'Famosa Resort Hotel and the surrounding area was not so exciting, but the Waterpark was good enough to say we didn't waste our money.

The hotel was clean and the staff helpful, but it was a bit hit or miss if their English was good enough to get what you need. There is nothing really near the hotel as far as shopping or restaurants except for the hotel's own--which was very good, by the way, but has limited hours. So, if you want to hang out at a bar for a drink or grab a sandwich as a restaurant, forget it--you will have to order room service. There is Cowboy Town and some other attractions, but they seem a bit cheesy. The only good attraction that saved the trip was the Waterpark which kept us entertained all day--I just wish they would have not looped the same 10 songs all day at the wave pool, which got a bit annoying.

I am not much into golf, but I would have to say if you are, the resort could be a very nice quiet get away. Or, it could even good for a day seminar since they have rooms for these kinds of events. However, do not expect a variety of things to do at the resort--you'll need a car to go anywhere else.

We thought it wasn't a total loss, but I would not go back. If you are just wanting to try something different or are into golf, it could be worth the try. But if you want something to keep your family entertained, especially if you have younger kids, you can give this a miss.

A beautiful place if you want to relax and want to remain away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I stayed in a villa which was so beautiful and had three rooms. It is so huge and spacious that one wold feel scared to sleep alone. The good thing is six mineral water bottles were provided complimentary for each villa. There was also a kitchenette where you could make your own coffee or even use the minibar. There were two bathrooms. Plus you have your own private swimming pool, although its a bit small. You need to take a banana bus to go to Cowboy town. You even have a golf course there and various activites such as paintball and horse riding. Give this place a visit if you are in Malaysia.

  • Liked — The room and the swimming pool
  • Disliked — The distance from the villas to the activity centres

It is very easy to find this resort, thanks to the pak cik & mak cik from sourvenir stall for the very clear direction! :D We didnt get lose!! :-D
My husband and I stayed in Beverly Hills Condo (9 to 10 of May '09) ... for one nite only (pheww lucky only one nite!)
1. Reached there around 12.30 noon (according to reservation staff in KL, I can check-in at 1 pm). We faced 'unfriendly' greeting from receptionist staff and telling us, we only allowed to check-in at 3 pm. Oh ok ... thats fine ... they put notice on the wall, check-in at 4 pm and check-out at 12 noon. Not much I can do about it!

2. Trying find a place for lunch ... cowboy town was closed still, then we went to Water World. Car parked all over the place, double parking at both side of two way road, terrible!! So many empty parking space at the 'proper parking lot', geezz people are so lazy!! Bad attitude?? No doubt! And management didnt do anything about this!! They are blind!! :-p

3. One cafe outside the Water World, crappy food but expensive! The baby elephant being more friendly than the staff!!

4. I like the sport-activity (go-cart and archery), the staff was helpful, THANKS!

5. After the muddy go-cart driving, we went to this cafe (building next to the Resort Hotel), too bad they ran out of beer ... How come?? So, we tried the other restaurant, and lucky they have it, plenty!! :D But, after 20 minutes sitting there, electric power went off! hmmm ... not a lucky day at all! :-p

6. At 2.30 pm we managed to checked-in to the condo ... mini bar : door opened and unplugged... ??

7. Room service was fine, the food is OK (my rating : 6 of 10) ...

8. Lousy breakfast ... terrible taste of meehoon goreng, NASTY!! :-p (my rating: 3 of 10) ...

9. One male waiter (sorry I didnt read his name) so helpful making us a nice nescafe :-)

10. The staff during our check-out is so friendly, thank you!! :-D

The beauty of architecture comes alive in the A'Famosa Resort Hotel. Each room design has an ambience of its own, enhanced by the generous spaces you'll enjoy both indoors and outdoors. A further advantage is the elevated land on which the hotel is built, giving you a variety of views to enjoy. Our room had a small balcony & we had a view of the entrance to the villa and lush green lawns. The room came equiped a witha TV, small refrigrator and a coffee machine. Spacious, well lit with french windows & cosy, it gives the feel of a guest room in a colonial bungalow. The space between the alleys to the rooms was open to the sky and well dorned with plants and a small indoor lawn. The staff was friendly and service was pretty good.

The main attraction of the resort is it's vicinity to the cowboy town built like a small town market giving a rustic feel of a ranch and an american small town. The Cowboy Town features a wide variety of outlets where entertainment is the name of the game such as restaurants, disco, beer garden, shopping village, pub, game centre, bowling alley, children theme park and funfair. The good old western feeling will come alive the moment you step into Cowboy Town when you come face to face with its rustic buildings, antiques, cowboys and cowgirls, country songs, stunt shows and the amazing carnival where wild animals, including tiger cubs are paraded. A live band in cowboy attire welcomes the visitors at entrance to the cowboy town. All this is only a 10 minute walk away from the hotel - a paved walk though the lush green lawns. I would give the overall hotel experince a three and a half star rating.
