Always nice to find a quiet oasis in a bustling city! We are on a year long RTW trip, and these gems are rare. (read more about it at www.changesinlongitude.com). Also worth noting that Hotel Puri is a completely smoke-free property.

We had a deluxe double in the newer wing, which was large and well-equipped, with lots of nice amenities. Bathroom was fine, except shower was built into an odd corner which had a big wedge carved out for ductwork or something. This made the shower quite small, requiring some creative use of elbows when washing your hair. Too bad toilet was built adjacent, because there really was enough room to make the shower larger.

Breakfast was a nice buffet, also eggs cooked to order. Spa was pretty, with good massage, but the prices were a little on the high side for this part of the world.

Loved the antiques scattered everywhere, and the multiple courtyards. Always easy to find a quiet place to read or access wifi.

love the character of this chinese mansion that turn into boutique hotel. from the tiles, the airy open space in between the floors, wooden furniture to the antique collections that represent the heritage of its mansion. another bonus is situated within malacca old quarter so a famosa, jonker street, malacca church and even st paul's hill can be visited within walking distance.

my room was spacious and very clean, equipped with modern amenities. ask the adapter to the receptionist and provided within seconds. thank you :)

We stayed here for 3 nights in early Jan 2012... It is a heritage hotel with modern facilities... Bear in mind there is no Lift.. We stayed on the third floor, our room was well appointed and had a balcony overlooking the garden...

The staff was friendly, it is worth metioning Joe... She made our stay comfortable and recommended few places of interest which is worth visiting... Joe is also good at photography... Whilst in Hotel Puri look out for Joe...

The location of the hotel is brilliant... Most of the places of interest is round the corner... Jonkers street... a drink in the geographers cafe.... China town walk.... art of drinking tea and loads of other places...

The common areas, restaurant, breakfast area are well done... There is also a museum at lower level illustrating the glorious past of Melaka and restoration of Hotel Puri.. it is must visit... We were thoroughly satisfied with our stay....

This is a small boutique heritage hotel with modern amenities. Location: in a row of old shophouse that is a heritage area, within walking distance of the Stadhuys, the A Famosa and the point for river cruise. Rooms: standard room is reasonably spacious, has modern amenities and very clean. Common areas: spacious with interesting areas such as history room and courtyards. Food: restaurant serves good food but the buffet breakfast - not so much. Service: good and efficient front desk. Perfect hotel!

Great hotel especially if you want a bit of character, rooms furnished in keeping with hotel

If you want quiet you may want to ask for a room that doesn't face onto the courtyard bar.

Jonkers st literally round corner with night street market

Drinks good at geographers bar good place for people watching

Worth taking the river cruise

Dorine was kind enough to keep an extra room for us on the off chance we would want it

The Junior Suite was not really a suite but nevertheless very nice

Very damp though with a big damp patch on the ceiling

The hotel was charming, being a converted old house, and the the service was very good

Breakfast was pretty average but the breakfast area was charming

Walking out of the hotel straight into the heart of the Melakan heritage town was fantastic. The Majestik, for example, is a superior hotel but in a much less convenient location and in our opinion when visiting Melaka location is everything. There is little else to see apart from the heritage site

Feel like you have been transported back in time at the Hotel Puri. Is true, it is like staying in a museum! There is plenty to keep you occupied in the lobby area alone, full of history.
Courtyard bar great. Very central for all the local attractions. Fair size superior room with very large shower in bathroom. Nice breakfast area. Real good value for money.

Room Tip: Go for the superior room for extra space.
