The location is perfect for tourists and shoppers ! Walking distant to enjoy Melaka ....the Heritage City. Wonderful views of the city and spacious, comfortable rooms. Rather crowded as this is one of the more popular hotels. Remember to request for non smoking floors and room as the smell will put you off ! Meal time can be a hassle as it is crowded and you either opt for early or late meals. Good Japanese and Peranakan restaurants.
Do not expect too much as the bars are not well stocked.....they do not carry much of mix.
Car park is not very user friendly as they do not have ramp to the lobby.
Request for assistance prior to parking your vehicle if you do drive.

Room Tip: Request for non smoking floors and rooms and also special request for room with good working aircons...

perfect location, near to a shopping mall and a short walk to old melaka. The rooms are spacious and have a great view of the city. Very comfortable. The breafast buffet is crowded with tour groups, I would suggest you opt for the outdoor seating. Malaysians are heavy smokers, so I would recommend a non smoking room. The pool is lovely after a long day of sightseeing. It's not really a sunbathing place by the pool as you are visiting a conservative country. It's about a 20 minutes walk to Jonker street but you can always take a rickshaw back if you feel tired( negotiate the price).

There was a very strong musty smell that greeted me along the corridors. It was rather overbearing. Luckily the room was cleared of that smell.

Room was rather spacious and had a good sea view with natural lighting.

Hotel is very near to two malls. A bit of walk to Jonker street though.

We stayed 2 nights. The hotel is located close to amenities and historical places of interest. We stayed in the club room which offers panoramic views of Malacca, great for sunrise photography. The club room was of good size, but the air conditioning wasn't working well (felt like 26 degrees C even though it was set at 16) and there was no way we could sleep with bed covers on.

The Club Room comes with complimentary club lounge access and 'evening cocktails', which unfortunately was rather limited in selection. You basically need to order your drinks. When I asked for a gin tonic, I was told they only had wine and hot beverages (not so great if you compare it to Shangri-la or Traders Hotel Club Lounges)

Wifi is available in the rooms & common areas but connection is slow and intermittent.

The gym was decent but there was a spiral fracture in the pull-down bar at the universal machine, which I had highlighted to the staff (it is a safety issue)

And if you drove like we did, you will need to unload your luggage at the lobby entrance before driving into the car park as there is no lift or ramp from car park to the lobby.

We stayed here for 4 night in Feb 2013. The hotel is quite nice with a large lobby area, a number of dining options, good sized bedrooms and a nice pool deck.

The hotel does not overly excel in any one area, but provides decent service across the board. You get the feeling that it used to be a very impressive place but it's just starting to lose its shine a little. Saying that, I would happily stay here again.

The main asset this hotel has is it's location, as a short walk will bring you to most of the main sights in Melaka, with the furthest away being no more than a ten minute walk.

A mall by the side, walking distance to St Paul, Jonker, the fort, the location is perfect.

However the amenities, such as the gym and breakfast, is shared with the locals - I didn't see some of the users signing in to use the gym and there was clearly a construction worker seated at the next table.

Staff is generally attentive to basic needs.

I have to say that room cleanliness is a notch down: we had a club room, which comes with a huge balcony, so huge that the guests above could simply throw their leftovers and cigarette butts casually into. We had a chicken bone and cig butt, lying there for our entire stay. Oversight but......

This hotel is right in the middle of town. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It is walking distance to Melaka's historic landmarks and river cruise and right next to a large mall where you can get anything you need from restaurants to shops, to pharmacies.

Our kids loved the pool which was large and consisted of various children's pools too. There was no deep end, so my youngest (6 yr old) could touch the bottom of the pool easily.

Would recommend taking a night time rickshaw ride from the ship museum. A once in a lifetime experience! And don't be afraid to bargain about the price!
