Wanted a change from the normal stay in the Holiday Inn just across the street and found this new hotel. The Hatten Hotel.
Called the hotel to book a room for 2 nights and was told that there were only Premier rooms available, thus the increased in price. The premier price that I paid was to include extra perks such as the use of the Premier Lounge from 5 to 7 in the evening.(nothing else)
The hotel lobby was really pretty with a very unique and beautiful ceiling hung lead crystal chandelier. The hotel has more than 700 rooms and they were fully booked during my stay and it is served with 2 lifts for the car park and 5 lifts + 1 (one broken down) for the thousands of guests. Met an old couple (tourist) in the lift and the comment was, "1/2 day gone for waiting for the lift" and "another 1/2 day in the lift".
It's so slow and it was like a busy market and not conducive as a business hotel.
Was eager for the premier lounge and made my way there at 5.30pm, expecting some nice sangiovarse or at least Beaujolais and plenty of hot savories for a nice relaxing evening, only to find that they only serve coffee or tea with some cookies in a jar. A very big disappointment for they were really making such good sales (full occupancy) , yet they stooge on the perks. walked out of the so called Premier Lounge and never to set foot there again. The hotel has only one restaurant to cater for the thousands of tourists who stayed there.
In the morning, we have to line up from the cashier of the restaurant to the lifts for a table only to find that the food sucks. I found remnants of fried chicken in the buffet tray (all gone before you can count to 3), the nasi lemak (local delicacies) does not have sambal to go with it and the food was of low quality and it was not replenished in time. (poor management of food)
Overall, in my opinion, this is not a business hotel but a tourist hotel and you find some really wierd people rushing and grabbing for food (just because of scarcity) , thus making the joint such a pariah place.
One have to park 3 to 9 floor up and find a lift to take you to the lobby and another lift to take you to your floor. The old couple did not drive, for if they did, it will take them 2 days to reached their room from the carpark.
Overall, the experience I had was not good for the price that I paid.
Will not patronize this hotel again.
