Booked this hotel at the last minute cause our previous booking with another one was not satisfactory. The newly-built business class hotel is ideally located beside Mahkota Parade and opposite Dataran Pahlawan megamall and close proximity to Jonker Street. We paid RM$643 for a 3D2N stay (thurs-sat). Personally, i thought it was a considerably reasonable price given the hotel amenities and its location.
Needless to say, my friends and I were attracted by the lavish design of the hotel. A word of caution. Services provided at this hotel are incredibly slow. Take the check-in procedure for example, some of the hotel-stayers waited for a solid 30minutes to an hour and for me? It took me 25 minutes before i get to checked in. Well, certainly complaining doesnt work here. But I must give credits to this Malay lady (unfortunately I have forgotten her name) who served us at the check-in counter, she articulated well and was by far the only one whom i felt rendered excellent service compared to her co-workers.
Upon getting the room cards, we took the lift to the 18th floor where our room was. One thing to note is, you need to insert your room card to the slot in the lift before it takes you to your designated level where your room is. I assume that is one of the security measures to ensure the safety of the residents in the hotels.
I was amazed by the facilities in my room. It was a junior suite which has 2 single beds and 2 LCD tv, a built-in wardrobe, a mini safe, a mini fridge and a fairly spacious bathroom. One of the tvs was placed in front of the beds and the other was installed at the other part of the room with the mini sofa. The room was separated by a panel of glass which i thought was brilliant. It divided the room perfectly. There were drinks and tea bags provided. If you like housekeeping to tidy up the room, simply switch on the housekeeping button and if you prefer no one to knock on your door, turn on the "do not disturb" button near your door. And did i told you that the single bed is big enough to accomodate two average size adults?
Anyway, breakfast was provided at one of the function halls. Typical breakfast with entertainment for the children. And if you like to pay for breakfast for an extra person, it will cost you RM40.60.
I will certainly stay at this hotel during my next trip to Malacca. Overlooking the slow service, the amentities and the location of the hotel definitely attracts me more than another hotels.
