“Loved it!”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

Myself and my boyfriend came across this place yesterday after looking for ages to find a decent place to eat. What a gem! Amazing decor, a cat and dog wandering around, friendly staff, beautiful artwork, plants, great food. Books and games available for guests. You could easily chill out here for a few hours. Waitress made a special effort to provide a vegetarian dish for me. Flaws: toilets a bit gross, you only get 5 or 6 wedges with your burger, it closes at 5pm on weekdays and 7pm on weekends. Will definitely return!

“Not bad”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

My friends and I visited this place today just to try it out. Baboon House is very near Jonker Street, so parking and traffic is a problem. Footfall is plentiful. We had the beef burger, honey mustard burger and pork burger. Portions are a bit smaller than what I could get in Kuala Lumpur, while prices are ~RM13-14/burger. Those came with some 6-8 pieces of small potato wedges. The burger bun is a bit disappointing - it feels more like a Ramlee burger bun, ie more soft and gets soggy more easily, instead of those in TGIF, American Chilis and Plan B. Of the 3, I quite liked the honey mustard. But service was slow even though its not full house.

The menu had 5 types of coffee, but there was nothing more complex like cappucino and cafe latte. I had the normal black coffee, which was ok. I can't find anything special with the restaurant, but I guess if you crave for a burger, then this is probably the place in the Jonker Street area.

“Eat burgers with style for once”

An artsy, atmospheric place that offers damn good burgers - mostly around 13-14 MYR. They know a thing or two about coffee, too!

“Best strawberry shake ever”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

Amazing shakes, great food, lovely atmosphere with a book swap and magazines to borrow. However very annoying it isn't open for dinner, and I couldn't find the female toilets anywhere! I had to go back to our hotel next door to use them!

“coffee in a beautiful old colonial house”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

the house itself is worth going there for a coffee. i can't say much about the food, i had only coffee. but the house has been renovated and is so beautiful that i would really advise going. go inside and have a look around, go to the back and have a look at the garden. its such a nice inspiring beautiful place.

they have really great paintings as well and some funny t-shirts. definitely a place to go!!!
