Stayed here with my mum for 3 days 2 nights. The reasons why we chose this hotel were because of the location, and the reviews from the previous hotel guests who gave high marks to this hotel. It is strategically located in the heart of Banda Hilir where it is convenient for you to walk around the tourist attractions as they are located nearby. The hotel doesn't even look like a 2-star hotel, it feels like a 4-star hotel as the interior looks luxurious. The room is a bit small but very comfortable especially the bed. The bathroom is okay, however I feel the shower should be changed as it is not a high water pressure shower (but I guess it is okay as long as it works in good condition). No breakfast provided but it is so easy to find restaurants here, or you can go to shopping complexes nearby. There is a water dispenser outside the room, or you can boil water as a kettle is provided. Parking space is provided free of charge in front of the hotel, under the bridge. You can leave your car there and start walking around the town. Nearby attractions are Menara Taming Sari, DuckTour, Dataran Pahlawan Megamall where you can go to Coral Wonderland, Mahkota Parade and Pahlawan Walk Market for shopping, River Cruise near the Maritime Museum (where you can see the big ship), lots of different museums (however some of them are under renovation), a park garden, the famous Jonker Walk etc. Definitely will stay here again when holidaying in Malacca!

Nice hotel and clean, adequate size room. Near to Mahkota Parade, Newton food court and Nadeje mille crepe is just a few block behind. Strategic location, walkable to jonker walk and other famous attractions such as Port'de Santiago and Melaka Tower. Only at night time, the alley beside hotel a bit dark and seems dangerous if walk alone. Water dispenser is available beside lift.

We were desperate for a hotel near the famous Jonker district in Malacca but most were fully booked 2-3 weeks prior. That was until we stumbled upon this newly opened Venus Boutique Hotel. At that point, there were no reviews whatsoever that we could rely on. Girlfriend had her reservations but we booked it anyway because of its proximity to the attractions and nice looking bedroom pictures.

Arrived there and we were pleasantly surprised. Firstly, the facade of the hotel - We were initially expecting the hotel to look nothing like the pictures on the website, having been to too many hotels that looked far from what was publicised. The hotel looked EXACTLY like the illustration provided on agoda.com.

Reception was a tad cold at first, with them speaking to us in Malay until I told them I did not speak malay. Was rather slow in processing us but hey, we're on a holiday aren't we? The place was so new, the main reception smelled of fresh paint, sparsely furnished but nicely done up.

The rooms looked nice at first glance, with a demeanor of a 4-star hotel. Looked exactly like the photos on the agoda website. However it was rather basic with ONE coffee & ONE teabag for a 2-person room. The room could've done with a spray of air freshener although it didn't smell bad. Beds were comfy, and there weren't many english channels except HBO and Nat Geo. No minibars, but on the overall, rooms were clean. Major drawback is the water pressure from the showerhead... even at high power, the water was weak. The best setting (adjustable showerhead) resembled a garden sprinkler.

Distance from jonker street is about a 15min walk, but it's very close to Mahkota Parade shopping centre which constitutes part of Malacca's attractions. If you were to park your car there, chances are you wouldn't have to move it as you explore Malacca city (Christ Church Melaka, Porta de Santiago etc).

If you are looking for a no-frills hotel, then this is one to consider. Not advisable for families with elderly or kids or those who are used to creature comforts.

Stay 1 night in brand new Venus hotel in Malacca. Hotel lobby still under renovation. Location is a bit quiet but walking distance to the attraction places and shopping centre.

Front desk staff are very friendly and helpful service.

Cost RM$198 per day for triple room for weekday period. stay in 3rd storey window view room. Good view to seaview but a bit noisy due to room located beside flyover bridge road.

Room sizes are smaller and basic accessories provided. Water pressure are low and water leakages for washing basin.
