Got to know this place from blogs and write ups, a home style setting in a small shoplot tucked in a residential area of Melaka, Aunty Lee is a popular outlet evident from the buses from Singapore patroning the restaurant hence expectations were understandably high. The food presentation was good with nice large prawns and generous portions for every dish, the taste could be described only as average. The pricing is reasonable at USD80 for 7 different dishes for a table of 10 but all in all not sufficient to persuade me to return if I am in Melaka again. Perhaps spoiled by Little Yum Yum in Kota Damansara back in PJ.

Even nicer than Nancy's Kitchen. All the food we loved. A tad on the salty side though. And be prepared to wait for your food as they prepare it only when you arrive.

Was there 3 days ago for Lunch. Had Chilli Crispy Fish, Udang Nanas, Belachan Kangkong, Aunty Lee Chicken with special sauce and Special Sambal Belachan with their best Chendol for dessert..They are all very Authentic Nonya Food and very delicious. This is a Must Try Authentic Nonya Food Restaurant then you will know the difference. Of Course there are many Nonya Food Restaurant floating in the Market in Melaka but how Authentic is their Nonya Food is another question..Have to Book in advance. Best is to text Jasmine @012-3980669 to make Advance Booking and place Order instead of calling Restaurant Line cos quite difficult to get through. She'll defiinetly call back. I'll always go back there to enjoy my Nonya Food each time I visit Melaka. If they can maintain their Standard, they'll be the Best Authentic Nonya Food Restaurant in Melaka.

Aunty Lee, the lady reminds me of my granny - a typical Penang Nyonya lady who was well known for her Nyonya Kuehs (cakes) and of course her cooking. Going to Aunty Lee was almost like going back to my grandmother's.

The colorfully garish exterior and simple/colorful interior gave me a poor first impression. The place did not look or feel Nyonya-ish.

But when the food came, all my doubts evaporated. The food is good, even for me who is of Nyonya parentage.
We had :
1. Cincaluk omelet, with the cincaluk adding a certain tanginess and zing to the egg.
2. The fish curry was perfect with a very fresh fish and a gravy that is not overly tasty or creamy.
3. Stir-fried kankong belacan, this was good but could do with some fresh prawns thrown in.
4. Ayam Pongteh - if you are there don't miss this.
5. Otak-otak, this was spicy and slightly hard; unlike the Penang version which is softer and has Daun Kadok.
6.Cendol - the only disappointing dish as the Gula Melaka provided was too thin and as such did not have that good coconut aroma.

But overall a good, tasty meal that satisfied even me, a Baba with slightly higher expectations when it comes to Nyonya food.

But make reservations and go early as the place can be crowded.
